Not much has been said about the new school opening in Fall of '08 in knox co. Have they hired any coaches or done any interviews as of yet? Will any big names move from other knox co schools to fill the new positions?

I heard the official name is Hardin Valley Academy even though it is a Knox County public school. I would like to officially go on record as simply referring to the school by the abbreviated name:

I had a conversation 2 weeks ago with Mr. Ashe (HVA Athlectic Dir.) they have conducted interviews. But they have not hired anyone for any sport yet.

This is the romur floating aroud in Knox Co. It does come from coaches from 2 high school programs here.

 

Ron Gray is he front runner on getting the job. I think he has coached at Karns, Bearden, and Oak Ridge as an asistant.

 

I have heard some good and some bad about him.

HVA is supposed to announce next week who the coach is going to be. I have heard the same rumors that "caslong" has posted. "That Ron Gray is the front runner."

 

As a father of a former Bearden football player and a father of a incoming freshman at HVA. If Ron Gray gets the job, we will apply for a transfer or move to another district. He is not someone, I will expose my children to ever again.

 

I would suggest other parents do the same.

 

If the staff at HVA hires this guy. There will never be a dull moment. They better dedicate one phone line just for complaints and concerns. They will also hope that the TSSAA does not snoop around either.

I've heard a lot of the same complaints from people at Oak Ridge. What kinds of things does he do/has he done to make so many people feel this way?

 

And with the principal being from West, I'm guessing the new coach will come from there. It sounds like many of the teachers are transferring from West.
