Mark Gaither
Shot clock not only about tradition, but about cost, maintenance, standardized placement and expertise in keeping the shot clock. Talking more expense and more personnel. Many schools see budgets too tight as it is, don't want to mess with shot clocks. The TSSAA could get a price of about $1,000 for each gym. This would get you 2 shot timers plus the electical box. If a school budgeted it, it would not be a huge expediture. Let's move into the 21st Century here! That's the tough question.
Redog
Agreed. Don't think it will happen for TN HS. AAU uses shot clock - just plug them into the wall and play
Redog
Buying it is the easy part. Who's going to run it and where do you find these people? That's the tough question. AAU usually has a parent or kid do it - not brain surgery
robjim
AAU usually has a parent or kid do it - not brain surgery Ok, then let's take a vote. (Hint, you might want to look at the 2-3 threads from just this year on both the girls and boys side on just how happy fans are with parents running the game clock) Everyone is happy that parents run the game clock and feel that the parent could easily handle additional duties? Let's see a show of hands. This is like police work, get a clue.

Plus the shot clocks are run separately than the clock itself....... and yes the parents/and in one case a student thaI know of this season, that run game clocks can and have and willl continue to make mistakes - human error...... So, we are back to my point. Buying it is easy, who are you going to get to run it?
Redog
So, we are back to my point. Buying it is easy, who are you going to get to run it? Same criteria used for game clock - whatever that is
teece31
"boring" was used only in referring to the act of holding the ball. never in there did i say that the game itself was boring. In fact, it was the most exciting game I've seen this year. (minus the holding the ball parts) clear now? So you "got the analogy", but "it didn't make sense"? Speaking of not making sense... That makes perfect sense. We all got the comparison of the stall-ball of DL to football with no downs. What made no sense was that said Lipscomb fan somehow put their State Championship team in the thread.
FBGIRL
The clock/scoreboard operator at CPA is magnificent and he is not afraid to say so. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> And I hear he works cheap too! robjim
I'm not conceited, that is a fault, of which I don't have any! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
