Gibson Co. won 58-52. We were down 18 points midways through the third quarter and was only down 8 at the end of the third. Heather Butler took over for GC and we won by 6. Butler finished with 30 points in the game and is only a Sophomore! She also had 31 in the District Consolation against Obion Central! She's the real deal and maybe folks will get to see her in the 'boro next week!

"Oh ye of little faith." Elizabethton, picked by only 10.3% of the Big Ones participants, knocked off South Greene tonight for the second time in three games this season. The win gives the Lady Cyclones their fourth regional title in the last five years. The win also sets up a sub-state rematch with Stone Memorial Saturday in Elizabethton. Stone won a close game last year, and this should be another good game. Go Cyclones!!!!!!

Well I finished 38-18, 68% over all.

In the finals I went 4-4. In my defense 2 of the games, Milan/Gibson Co. and Austin-East/Stone Memorial, the loosing teams gave up at least 18 point leads. The Austin-East/Stone Memorial game went to double over time.

I will make my Substate picks soon in a new thread.

Thanks for viewing and replying to my picks. Enjoy!

    • Ok l will bite. What exactly are Football Families?
    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
