Some other interesting facts; The cities with the most players playing D-I basketball are Memphis (48), Nashville (19), Jackson (6), and Knoxville (5). The overall regional breakdown is: West Tennessee (69 players), MIddle Tennessee (48 players), East Tennessee (19). The high schools with the most players playing D-I are: White Station (7 players), Hamilton (5 players), Ridgeway (5 players), Liberty Tech (4 players). In the 11 years I have compiled these lists, these are the major conference teams that have never had a Tennessee players on it's roster: ACC (Maryland, Miami) A-10 (Rhode Island, Saint Joseph's, Fordham, Saint Louis, Temple, Duquesne, La Salle, St. Bonaventure), Big 10 (Michigan State, Ohio St., Wisconsin, Purdue, Minnesota, Michigan, Penn St., Northwestern), Big 12 (Kansas, Texas, Tex A&M, Missouri, Baylor, Okla, Okla St., Nebraska, TX Tech, Iowa St.) Big East (Marquette, Syracuse, UCONN, Providence, Villanova, Notre Dame, DePaul, Rutgers), C-USA (all teams have had players from Tennessee on roster at some point; 8 current) Pac-10 (UCLA, Oregon, Wash St, Stanford, Wash, Cal, Ariz St, Oregon St), SEC (Kentucky, South Carolina, Arkansas, LSU),

Also, I forgot to add Jamie Graham from Whites Creek to the list but did include him in the numbers above. If I forgot anyone on the list, let me know!!

Thanks for the response. I really do not keep up with state tournament stats, but I have always found the tssaa.org site very helpful when I do wonder about these things. I do not really keep up with AAU, I feel that most of the times it is about the coaches more so than the players, but I mostly certainly keep up with recruiting (Missouri and Duke among others will be knocked off on the non-Tennessee signing list by next year). This list actually started as curiosity when I was in 10th grade, and it is now more or less a hobby. I make the list every year for men's and women's basketball and football. I just think it is interesting to see where everyone is playing at these days.

That was a sick post. It must have taken some serious time and dedication. I'm out here on the East side of the state and have been keeping up with a few players on your list. Odem and Wattad went to Science Hill which is where I'm set to graduate from this year. Kenyona Swader, Courtney Pigram, Travis Strong, and Dequan Twilley have been playing at the local college: ETSU. They are all great athletes, last season Courtney was the conference MVP, K became a 6'9 monster underneath while also stepping out to hit threes, and Dequan ran the point very efficiently and hit a 25 foot game winner to beat Lipscomb. Travis sat out the year with a torn ACL. They won the conference in the regular season and lost the A-Sun final to Belmont. Boy how things have changed. CP has been running point, along with JUCO junior Jacolby Davis (Meridian, MS) because Dequan left the team at the turn of the year for personal reasons. Twilley has been a huge loss, he was personally my favorite player, and I hated to see him go. CP has bulked up to 190 and is becoming a complete player. It has been great seeing him mature. K will be a loss next season, as will Travis, who hit 6 3's in last weekends win over TN Tech. These are all great young men and it is nice to see them doing things locally.

Has it been more than 11 years since Tony Delk (west TN), Ron Mercer (Goodpasture) and Oliver Simmons (David Lipscomb) played for Kentucky? I'm feeling old.....
