Nope, it's PC. We are scrimmaging McNairy on 5/22. They are a 3A school, it should be interesting.

Good! Tough opponents make you better. I hate to lose in anything, but you must keep in mind it's a scrimmage & you're working out the kinks on Off. & Def. & seeing who of the young players can contribute. Do the Vikings have a lot of players out this spring?

I understand that Jake McCaig and Dakota Qualls quit, don't really have any idea why. SWO, scrimmage tomorrow with McNairy Central will be at McNairy. Not sure what time it starts, but the bus is leaving Linden around 2:45.Hope to see you there, it was nice seeing you at Mt Pleasant.

There seemed to be quite a few left on the sidelines during the scrimmage Friday. That is always a good sign.

i just might make my way down to the scrimmage. since we did spring in Febuary i have been able to see a lot of different teams scrimmage. Neal Sanders called and asked to me come and i have been wanting to go see him since he signed to play football with a school in Kentucky. it was good seeing some friends out there... i officiated a wedding for Hayley and Brad a couple of weeks ago in Linden and i have another wedding coming up in Linden.

anyone have results from the Mcnairy PC scrimmage?

They didn't keep score on the scoreboard, but I think McNairy scored 4 or 5 times, and PC scored twice. All things considered, I think the Vikings did a great job. We only had 17 players there, so most of them had to play the whole time. The Vikings hung in there with them all the way to the end.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
