If a student/athlete does not attend school (unexcused absensce), are they still eligible to play on that day?

From what I have heard..they cannot play that day. Ha but don't qoute me on that.

We were always told if you dont come atleast half a day, you couldnt play. But I never knew if this was true. I think it all depends on if the principal checks it and enforces it.

Never read anything in TSSAA about an attendance rule. I think attendance requirements vary school to school. Crap, from what I've heard, 80% of Columbia Central's student body didn't show up for school today.

The TSSAA rule is the player must attend every class and be on time to that class. Noone ever really checks up on it so its coaches jurisdiction, but if someone found out and turned them in the team would be disqualified from any game that a player played under an infraction of the rule.

False. The TSSAA does not have a rule in place for attendance. Call and ask them. Each school district can decide if they want to use one or not.

Our district rule is you must either be in school at beginning until 11 or in before 11 and stay til the end. only exception is funerals. Must be in attendance at least half day

Each school and head coach has their own ruling about this,also the T$$AA does not govern this rule.
