BurroBall... no offense or anything, but when my little brother was 5 years old he threw better than that quarterback for the Boro in 02. It may have been a combo of Coach Ad not wanting to throw and the guy not being able to get the ball too far that killed you guys against us, but either way the lack of a passing game hurt you bad. You would have killed us otherwise.

That is exactly what I think as well. I think in both 2001 and 2002 actually. The lack of a passing game kind of haunts a team a little when they need a quick score late in the game. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

 

If the coaches had wanted a passing game and emphasized the importance of it, Hillsboro had QB's who could throw a good ball. They weren't coached to effectively do so. I am just grateful those days are over. Now, the Burros run one of the most potent, sophisticated offenses in the state and are much more dangerous from a strategy standpoint.

It always nice to see a TN team in the National ranking and Maryville seems to be in there year in and year out. A question to Maryville fans thow is have they ever mixed it up with any of the powerhouses in the nation like teams in Ohio, Florida or TX. I know there is a Herbstreet Classic matchup during the season and would love to see how they'd match up in that. Or even see a match up with TN powers like MDA or BA. Love to hear your thoughts

i believe with the new Nike contract at MHS a term in the contract is we have to play another Nike sponsored school within the next five years... so you may get your wish. The Herbstreet Classic was talked about but i'm not sure if that fell through or was scheduled for the future... we'll have to wait and see.

Perhaps they already play a NIKE sponsored school. In the AA forum on this board theres a post in reference to Alcoa being a NIKE sponsored school.

Maryville-Miami Northwestern. Two Nike sponsored schools. Make it happen, and I will crap myself, then have a seizure just thinking about how good of a game that would be.

Im not %100 sure but i think Smyrna is a Nike sponsored team. How about that match up. Shoud put some butts in the seats.
