Heard since Cumberland Co. couldn't show up there were several teams that scrimmaged more than once. I heard also that Sycamore beat both LaVergne & Portland.

YEA THEY BEAT PORTLAND AND LAVERNE JV TEAM. PORTLAND AND LAVERNGE VARSITY PLAYED THE FIRST QUARTER AND ENDED AT A TIE 7 TO 7

I have heard you have all the individual and teams stats. Good job!

Just what we need, 2 losers discussing metro football one sentence at a time. Quit the job and bigchump evaluating any sport is quite a stretch. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Pearl Cohn defeated Hillwood 12-0. The Firebirds played without the services of Holt, Fitzgerald, Amos, and a couple of other players that are projected starters down the line.

Coach Brunetti is doing a great job at PCHS. If the Firebirds go deep into the playoffs this year he honestly deserves to win "Coach of the Year" because he has already gone to the semifinals twice and last year he did it with a completely different football team than the one that he had in 2006 (outside of Mason, Griffin, & Harris). The 2008 team is completely different than the 2007 bunch as well.

Brunetti seems to be providing a model for "how to get it done" in Metro. The challenge in a Metro program is in getting the kids who CAN play football TO play football. Brunetti's track record for finding his former players college scholarships to continue play is helping him recruit the potential players in his zone. D1A coaches can usually identify the players they need, but there are lots of smaller colleges and JCs that offer scholarship aid who make their player decisions by their associations and contact with HS coaches. Brunetti has built a lot of contacts in those areas that has helped him--- and his players.

I agree with that. Kids will play hard for you if they know that you are going to work hard for them over the off-season.
