Does Emmanuel Andrews still play for Shelbyville? I know last year Coffee County struggled to contain him. If he is on Shelbyvilles roster then I can see a scenario where Shelbyville wins this game.

Found out today that Andrews decided to concentrate on his basketball career and is not playing football. I have trouble seeing Shelbyville winning this game. But hey, I had trouble seeing it win last year's game and it was a point away in double-OT ..... Shelbyville is too small up front to stop Justin Kanjanabout, though. KJ will have a field day. 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns. I'll take Coffee County 28-14. But don't count out Shelbyville ... the Eagles earned my respect in the fourth quarter last year. But no Julian Haile this year.

I hear Andrews is now playing and he'll be a threat down the road if he keeps his attitude in check. He probably won't play much Friday night, though. As for the game, it should be a good one. Both teams lost a lot to graduation. Shelbyville has some solid speed and will create some mismatches for sure. Coffee County will be bigger and deeper. If Shelbyville can tackle Kanjanabout and keep him at bay, they'll have a chance for the upset. I'm not sure how good the Eagle offense will be, especially in the red zone. It will come down to the fourth quarter...I don't expect a blowout either way.

Raiders - Tomorrow is the big day, go in there and protect YOUR field, play for YOU, not your parents, not even your coaches, WIN FOR YOU, it is your pride at stake. The last time Shelbyville came to Manchester it was a blow-out, YOU should expect no different this time. LISTEN TO YOUR COACHES, THEY KNOW HOW TO HELP YOU WIN, DO WHAT YOU KNOW HOW TO DO, COACH NUNLEY AND HIS STAFF HAVE GIVEN YOU THE KNOWLEDGE NOW USE IT. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE SUPERMAN, BUT YOU DARN WELL BETTER PLAY FOUR QUARTERS OF HARD-NOSE INTENSE, SMASH MOUTH FOOTBALL, YOU WILL WIN, IF YOU DO THESE THINGS.

REMEMBER AS GENERAL NEYLAND WOULD SAY:

1. The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win.

2. Play for and make the breaks and when one comes your way - SCORE.

3. If at first the game - or the breaks - go against you, don't let up... put on more steam.

4. Protect our kickers, our QB, our lead and our ball game.

5. Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle... for this is the WINNING EDGE.

6. Press the kicking game. Here is where the breaks are made.

7. Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 60 minutes.

MAKE SHELBYVILLE'S PLAYERS WISH THEY HAD NEVER STEPPED ON YOUR FIELD.

I don't know if I would predict a blow out, but it should be a very good hard hitting game. I hope the Raiders can pull this one off especially with the 1958 team there and all.

I didn't predict a blowout I said the players should play like they will blow-out Shelbyville

"I never could stand losing. Second place didn't interest me. I had a fire in my belly." - The great Ty Cobb

"My advice to defensive players: Take the shortest route to the ball

and arrive in a bad humor." Bowden Wyatt / Tennessee

"Gentlemen, it is better to have died a small boy than to fumble this

football" John Heisman

who cares about this game? both these teams are bad, real bad, Coffee County couldn't catch a cold on defense much-less a decent running back, their offense is always good but even it may not be this year.

About 4-6,000 people that will be at the game tomorrow night will care.

This is a huge rivalry game that went down to the wire last year. CC is a well-coached team and are excited to get a fellow like Nunley who cares about the program and wants to follow in Price's foot-steps. Good luck to the Raiders! I hope you guys win the region and only lose ONE game this year! Guess which one?

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
