Waverly definately a better squad than last years team, have not seen Harpeth this year but I heard the numbers are down but they needed to be for them to get back to where they used to be. They have had too many guys on the team that did not need to be out there. I think its closer than last years score which I believe was Harpeth 24 - 0.

Harpeth has 48 rostered, which is better numbers than last year. Graduated starters at T/T, E/E, DL, TB/DB. Had a starting LB give it up due to recurring injuries. They're replacing 4 or 5 guys, but their strong freshman class from last year was followed up by another strong class this year. Numbers aren't going to be a problem except you can't have too many big linemen.

I look forward to a good game. Next year this one will probably be a region matchup.

Waverly is in for a long night. They will not move the ball a lot against the "D". They may not even score a point considering a weak 1a team held them scoreless last week. I say my boys from KS win this one going away. Final score Harpeth 37 behind the explosive veer, Waverville 0 due to the outstanding play of the Harpeth D. GO TRIBE!!!!!!!!

Are you a player because that sure is great bulletin board matterial you just spouted off with. If you are a player you had better hope that it turns out in your favor or your coach may not be to happy with you.

First of all, Wayne County is not a weak 1A team. They went two deep in the playoffs last year and lost to a very talented Mt. Pleasant team in a real close game. They returned their whole team. They have perhaps the best qb in the mid state. He's the best that I've seen in a while and he's only a sophomore. Waverly should've scored last week but didn't mainly because of failure to convert. Also, starting running back didn't play from mid first quarter on with cramps. Up until that point he had 26 yards on only 4 carries. Now I hope that Harpeth goes into the game with your attitude, because if they do, it could spell trouble. This is not the Waverly team of last year. Now for the guys on here saying that they are going to knock some heads around. Last week WC stated that the Allen kid would knock a reciever out of the game for Waverly. Guess who left the game after getting rocked? Allen. Watch what you say on these boards. It could come back to haunt you. Look forward to a great game and hope for no injuries. Weather is calling for thunderstorms.

Like i said, a week 1a football team. Now about the tiggers. Waverville might have a qb that could play on our jv, but you have not seen a qb until you see ours. Pass, check. Run, check. We have all the tools needed to beat you guys. As far as knocking some heads, get ready for it. If their is one thing Harpeth football is about it is knocking heads. Not trying to take anyone out, just trying to be physical. WE WILL BE MORE PHYSICAL THAN YOU!!!! Game time. GO TRIBE!!!!!!

FYI.....Wayne county is not a weak 1a team. See if your coach can schedule them next year. A very strong 1A...not South Pitt level but very competitive team. Waverly has been down. Anything postive from the players gives the fans some hope. Last year they were plagued with injuries. This year should tell what kind of future they should have As far as Papa.....he is just a die hard fan of the team, he bleeds the colors. He can find a positive in any game. He looks for the good and means nothing as far as disrespect to any team, coach or player.

When you have been down like Waverly has lately you can either complain or look for the good.....he choose to find my good . Don't know much about Harpeth this year except from what I have read and seen written. They should have a good year.

Good luck to both...edge to Harpeth, but hoping Waverly can show some real effort for an entire game.

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • Great to have Coach Peek back !
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
