Poor Powell

Good question.

North Knox you could go with Halls, Central, Powell & Gibbs.

West Knox Farragut, Bearden, West, Catholic, Webb, Cak, Karns, Grace Christian.

Central Knox maybe Fulton & A.E.

South Knox maybe South Doyle & Carter

I'm sure their are others I've missed. Some of these schools cross over such as Karns could be North in a stretch.

West could be considered central Knox.

Last year CAK in the jamboree and this year a loss to Campbell Co . Embarassing!

Neither of these teams should be able to play with us.

Something needs to be done to get this team going. It looks like we have good athletes and i know how hard they work. What needs to happen?

What's up with Powell?? Is there defense really that bad (300 yards rushing vs. Campbell Co.)? If so, I see Lenoir City getting a victory this Friday in the Battle of the Panthers.

The next 2 games for Powell should be interesting. Lenoir City and Karns will be their weakest opponents of the season, but at this point, I'm not sure what to think. I'm still not sure how they gave up 40+ points against CC. If Powell plays that kind of defense all season (or lack thereof), I don't know if they will win a single game.

I don't know why everyone is bashing on Campbell County. Their offense has been supplying points in their first two games. 33 against Union County and then 41 against Powell. Their defense has been their focal point from way back in the day. Thats been their strong point. Campbell County is a true team this year, believe it or not. But they will open alot of eyes this year. These kids have alot of heart. While the parents from other teams, try keeping them down, they keep fighting and staying up. So be ready to see Campbell County finish in their region in 2nd.

CC put up 33 on Union County last year too, then went out and laid an egg against Powell (35-0). I'm not trying to take anything away from CC, it's just that the Panthers gave up just 7 total points in the their first 3 games last year (plus they had never lost to the Cougars, until this season), so giving up 41 to CC is a bit of a concern, especially when Powell plays in region 3-4A. We know that the Cougars can beat Jeff County, Karns, and Science Hill, however, even though CC is improved, they still have to prove that they can beat the likes of Bearden, Dobyns Bennett, and Sevier County. I just don't think they are that good. With that said, I still think they will be the #4 team in region 1-5A, since Sevier County looks like a much improved team. Historically, there has always been a huge gap between the top 2-3 teams in this region, and the remaining region 1-5A teams. This year should be no exception.

I guess Powell will find out if the CC game was a fluke or not for their defense because if LC scores more than 21 points on Karns Powell's "D" they are truly hurting.

It must be bad, not even HTV has come to the aid of Matt Lowe and the Panther Football program yet!

Coach Lowe doesn't need my "aid". His team didn't play well last week. They made too many mistakes and Campbell County is a good enough team to be able to take advantage of the opposition's mistakes.

Nobody is offering any excuses.

What is the record of the team you follow at this point?

I was surorised that CC was dominant in that game, but I wasnt surprised to hear that they won. Jeff Co. is one of the toughest teams in that region this year & CC is no longer a doormat. They are loaded with talent. I think Jeff Co. DB & CC may be the top 3 teams there this year. Quit cring Powell you guys are never as good as you think you are.

Who do you see crying or making excuses? Powell got beat last week - period. A large majority of the posts in this thread have been made by people who aren't associated with Powell.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
