What is the running back situation now for South? I dont think the Fletcher kid can continue to carry the ball 30 times a game and then play defense as well. Who can relieve him at RB? What happened to all the other rb's that everyone was talking about earlier in the year?

I agree. That is a lot to ask of a kid. Fletcher gives it all every play on both sides of the ball. If he goes both ways throughout the rest of the season, an injury is likely to occur.

I don??™t think any of that is going to be an issue in this game, but you do have a point when it comes to the ladder part of this season as well as post season. Greenville could possibly be the only team they could face in the post season that will be in the same personnel situation as they are. They others have very few (2 or 3) two way starters if any. If Fletcher carries 30 times in this game he will have 250+ yards and 5 touchdowns...no joke! I think that Stacy has established the running game for the most part in the SH game because SH simply could not stop Fletcher. They will try to home-in and refine their passing game tonight hopefully in their case giving their QB and receivers much needed confidence. Best way to defend this is straight up man coverage with good communication between the DBs so that they don??™t get run off the underneath routs. With that being said??¦the fundamental issue with this strategy is whose going to be able to cover Kitzmiller man up one-on-one /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":huh:" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> ?????? Cap, very few understand man up pass coverage as we do. It's the only way to get it done. Of course there is a chance to be taken.

We are not napping I can guarantee! We have been quiet because we have major work to do. We have one very sick WR and he is a jewel in the rough. Trust me, when we get strong all will know. A game like tonight is the kind of game that can come in through the back door. It's the kind of game you have to be extra careful in. The mental attitude is a powerful weapon. They had that attitude in the first half last year. Volunteer had that attitude with the Vikings last year. We are not discounting the Blue Devils. I hope for no injuries for everyone tonight...not just the Rebels. I hope DB puts in on Bearden and I'm sure they will. Good luck to JoCo and 'Betsy. Luck to the 'Toppers against Jeff. Rebel Nation.

Bottom Line: South won't have trouble with unicoi. South's offense is pretty potent and unicoi just doesn't have enough firepower to handle them. Defense troubles me though.

Great win tonight!!! Our prays go out to Zach Ervin.

 

Bradley and Taylor looked great. I feel our secondary is lacking this year. We were burnt several times on the quick slant. I guarantee you that there are gonna be faster WR and better QB's than what big nasty Unicoi County has to offer. They have to get that situation taken care of or Greenville will throw the ball all over them.

 

This is the first time in 3 years South has scored first on Unicoi County. Ellis broke the school record for longest fumble recovery.

Others closer to the situation may want to comment. My understanding is the #2 and #3 on the depth chart are out for personal situations and injury, respectively.

Hate to see ZE's injury! He will be missed! Agreed, Bradley showed poise, speed and maturity tonight! He threw well to several different receivers, kept the ball to draw the defense, AND hit the hole running hard several times (for scores!!!!). The Rebels showed alot of balanced play tonight.... good runs by Fletcher, good throws by BD. We will need more games like this to get this rebel team "clicking" to carry on the "tradition[/color]"! It was great to see us come out and stick it to Unicoi EARLY ... we haven't done that the past couple of meetings. I am sure that TF's fan club is dissapointed that he didn't get to run, run, run.... its early in the season ... we HAVE to fine tune ALL our "weapons" if we are to succeed in the Big games!!!! The "W" is what matters.... not who gets to be the star! Coach Carter is all about teamwork... the kids believe it (mostly) ....hopefully the parents will eventually get on board !!!! This child has waited his turn to prove the player he is. Did not notice you had a problem last year when it was alllll about the QB. It was alll about" the star " (as you are implicating in your message of TF) last year and a couple of players on the team last year did not get to show their talents BD included. Its very obvious you do not care for this child and family or is it just the family?. Just keep your commets to yourself or come and talk to the parents. Futhermore, I heard and saw the as you call it "theTF fan club "chearing for other Senior Players when they did good on the field. For example, HB,TB,and TB. and Jrs.TG and CP.
