First of all for those of you who still think Franklin's defense is still weak and slow, they have allowed one touchdown in 2 weeks. And the only reason that happened is because of Franklin's weak point, their kick off team. But i do not think we have to worry about that if Gentry kicks well because they will all go into the end-zone. The defensive starters(some of them came out with about 15-20 minutes to go) didn't look like they allowed more that 60 offensive yards to a very quick and athletic team. And their defensive ends are playing hurt( #41 and #80) so when they are healthy there is no telling how much havoc they can reek.

Gentry hasn't been kicking every kickoff, but agreed, Franklin's kickoff team was hurting last night, I mean, when you score that many touchdowns, your kickoff team gets a lot of practice, so they should be a lot better. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I'm not sure how people can even think that the defense is weak. They shut out a fairly strong Ravenwood team, and only allowed 6 points last night to a quick McGavok.

well i will be rooting for indy this week hoping the rebels get there first loss.

prediction: INDY 31 FHS 14

The offense of independence is too potent(i saw it last week) and the franklin D is still looking pretty uncertain and weak.

First of all, with all due respect, "What have you been smokin?"

Have you even watched any of the Franklins games? This team is averaging 34 points per game, and scored 26 points in the 4th quarter to beat a very good McCallie team. What formidable opponent has Indy faced so far besides Brentwood? And what is their record?

If you think Franklins D is weak, you better watch the last 2 games in particular.

Cmon Alumni, think before you post....

I gotta go with the Rebels on this one. Heckman is a great QB, but he just doesn't have alot around him right now, and I gotta believe Franklin will keep him contained. Defensively, Indy has just been too inconsistent this year to stop guys like Nichols and Lee. I think it will be close early, but the experience and depth of Franklin should allow them to pull away in this one.

Alumni take note.....You call other people biased , but for you to say Indy's offense is potent and Franklins D is weak????

CHS 2007 would prob love to see Franklin lose, but he calls it like he sees it. Heckman is quick and good...But it has been ALL Heckman...you dont think Franklin doesnt have anything up their sleeve from last years playoffs?

Did you see that game?? Franklin was coming back and lost on a fluke play and a great FG with seconds left.

Franklin comes with both barrels loaded and the Defense will make a statement..

bite your tongue rebel!

the defense is still barely a mold of what you have been in the past!

the DE's and secondary in particular.

i dont think yall have enough speed to contain heckman anyways so expect a lot of that veer play that they run

1. i will not bite my tounge becuase that would hurt

2. this is a different team than we have had in the past but at least we are still barely a mold than not being a mold at all

3. even if we dont have the speed to contain heckman (we actually do)- we didnt have the speed to contain mcgavock or hillsboro or mccallie... but WAIT... we won those games

4. this is the number of wins we have so i just thought i would add that in

    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
    • What coach in their right mind would want to come here and set theirself on fire to keep her warm.
    • Shoulder not going to the #### show .   Macon will name the score this year.
    • Plenty of time. The former coach was busy with family and disappeared all summer anyway. Obvious choice has the same family issues. First game is in March 2025.
