Last chance for JC to win over DB in regular season play. Whats it gonna take? I think shut down DB's run game and step it up on special teams. Don't know what its gonna take for this team to play like they did at Greeneville, super hard hits and a never give up mentality, but that is a must have if they're gonna win. They've got this attitude back. Every game since then, they have been man handled, pushed around, and flat laid out at times. How much longer are they gonna take it. Maybe that needs to be they're them song for the week (We're Not Gonna Take It)

Didn't your QB get hurt a few weeks ago? I seen the Greeneville game and was impressed by your power game. You had a monster fullback and speed in the backfield.I knew that if Greeneville didn't make a defensive adjustment in the first quarter, they would have to out score you.We know that never happened. If your QB has been out, that would explain why it's taken you a few weeks to get it going again. He is a super weapon with that great speed.

One thing is for sure,I seen your team come from 14-0 back and roll.We have to figure that this may be the week you get it back together and are ready to play some football.Coach Watson will let our guys see the power you have and the problems it could cause,so we better be ready for a good team to come in here. The sports writers will say this and that, but our coaches are to smart for that.We will play as if the power houses from your past have suited up again, and we better because you have some very good athletes.

This shouldn't be the last regular season JC/DB, while we won't be in the same region anymore DB needs to be a fixture on the schedule to prepare us for 6A play once the playoffs starts. The last thing we need is to inflate our future win total by playing no good 5A teams then think we can make noise once the playoffs begin. DB and another 6A team need to be on the out of region schedule from here on out.

Having the Pats on the schedule would be a plus. Always a great and intense series all the way through.. Frosh, JV & Varsity. Maybe Art can feed us some facts on this series.

However this years match up might be the last match up for a few years out. I really wouldn't want Jeff Co. dropped but I think alot of us here in Kingsport would welcome a new challenge with Maryville.

Stopping the running game and stepping up on special teams won't be enough this year. As long as the Tribe stays healthy , wealthy and wise it will be a major challenge for the Pats to over come DB. Just like the military this DB team covers the land , see and air very well. Pretty good chance this will be one of the best teams Jeff Co. will face this year.

It comes down to how bad the Patriots want it. If they're willing to say enough is enough and play to their potential. Injuries or not, this is still a very good football team if everyone decides to step and take things personal. Its time to see what the Jefferson County Patriots are made of. /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

I think there will be a lot of schools that will be lining up for their shot at Maryville, DB may have to get in line

I wouldn't care to play Maryville this year. They would put a lot of presure on us ,but we have pretty good team as well.It would take the same near perfect game that we will have to play in order to beat some of the top teams in our 5A class.Next year, the only time I'd want any part of Maryville would be playoff time.

With all that said, this Jeff co. game is more important than last weeks, and we better get ready to play.

I'm just not seeing the defense this year and i'm not sure we can hold DB to 35. I think the talent is there for Jeff Co. but i'm not seeing the intensity. I think too many of the guys got caught up in the injuries to various players and they've yet to figure out that they're still capable of being a very good football team with who is left. They need to learn to believe in themselves.

If the weather is clear...

Why play D-B during the regular season, 2009, when we will have to play them or science hill in the first round of the playoffs anyway.

There are plenty of other 6-A schools a lot closer than the Tri-cities anyway, such as knox or blount county. there are

also plenty of 5A schools to be that will provide all the competition JCHS will need.

There are not going to be as many available 6A schools as you might think. Region 4, which will contain Bearden, Farragut, Knoxville West, Maryville, and William Blount all have 8 region games that they have to play no matter what(six of which will be against other 6A schools) What exactly would be their motivation for putting any other 6A team on the schedule, most of those schools already have built in rivalries with other schools that they will want on the schedule(like Maryville with Aloca/Knox Central, or Knox West with Knox Central).

The 6A teams in regions 1,2 and 3 are going to have to play either other in the regular season if for no other reason than to play more than one 6A team before the playoffs. That leaves Karns, Oak Ridge, Science Hill, and DB, Jeff County, and Sevier County as 6A teams to make a schedule with. Maryville is only going to have one open slot in the schedule if they continue to play Aloca(and why wouldn't they) so DB is going to have to get in line with O.R, Knox Central, Mo West, Halls, and anyone else who wants to play Maryville. It simply makes sense for the two teams to keep playing each other. From DB's perspective we're the closest 6A team with a pulse that will have an open schedule. From our perspective we have to get either DB or O.R on the schedule(maybe both) because they may be the only high quality teams we face all year prior to the playoffs. We're going to be playing in one of the weakest regions in the state, if either Sevier Co, West or East has a bad year we're going to be left with maybe two good region opponents all year long. As far as possibly facing DB or S.Hill in the 1st round, I'm not 100% sure of this but I would guess that regions 1 and 4 will face off, and regions 2 and 3 will face off. Either way thats no reason not to play DB or S.Hill, we've faced DB in the playoffs how many while being in the same region? Better to be battle tested going in than to play nothing but 5A teams and not have faced the same class of team we will be seeing come playoff time.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
