Guest EdHarley
What are some of the greatest teams in Tennessee history in 1-a, 2-a, and 3-a, or in all classes combined? Here is some food for thought: Science Hill from 1990-1995, Memphis Centeral 1982-83, Perry County 1997, BGA 1993-1994. Please make this State Champions only because if you didn't at least win the state to me you can't be considered great!
cobrafan90
Whites Creek(34-1) 1991 only loss to Science Hill(beat them in the arby's classic however, but they-science hill won when it counted most) 1989 State runnersup 1990 State semifinals
PantherGam
Perry Wallace's group. Best I have ever seen.
Spoonie
Cobra90 has got it correct by far. WC was the most dominate team I have ever seen. Not only was there David Vaughn, there was a disciplined group of kids that played extremly well together and knew what a team was.

STILL the only team ever to run the table for an entire season...that's almost impossible to do in Memphis, as evidenced by the fact that it hasn't happened in almost 30 years. UNCCJP33
Science Hill beat Oak Hill Academy while they were ranked #1 in the nation. That is the best basketball game i have seen ever.
TheEgoHasLanded
East during Tony Harris' last year was ranked #8 in the preseason... Who was on this BGA team you speak of? The Melrose team that had Finch and Ronnie Robinson was a awesome team, won the city championship over Johnnie Newman and the Overton Rebels. Overton were the Rebels back then? They are the Wildcats now....I think.
TheEgoHasLanded
Yeah they were the Rebels, dad played there and still has his jersey and shirts and class ring...I don't think I have to explain why they changed their name...their colors also changed...and Overton is the Wolverines, which I always found humerous because I don't know how many wolverines there are in Memphis TN. Izzy
i think overton high's mascot is the bobcat
TheEgoHasLanded
This is Memphis Overton not Nashville Overton and they are the wolverines...They used to be the rebels...actually you can go to Central High School's gym and they have some wooden paintings depicting the mascots of the other teams in the district, it has like Hamilton, or Ridgeway for example...an then it says Memphis Overton Rebels and has two rebel flags as its mascot. http://tssaa.org/schdir/Schdir_Detail.cfm?ID=266 that shows the bobcats are nashville overton http://tssaa.org/schdir/Schdir_Detail.cfm?ID=391 that shows that the memphis team is the wolverines, they also changed their colors, I presume when they changed their name, the old colors were a dark blue, red, and white. deputydog
How about the Hampton Bulldogs of 1960? They finished the season 44-4 and beat two undefeated teams (Murfreesboro and Union City) to win the State Title. This was also before classification came along. They were coached by the legendary Buck Vanhuss.
