There??™s a Riverdale fan (keeperfan). I know comparing common opponents is not the best way to size up a team (game), but their common opponents are Shelbyville Central and Hendersonville. Franklin shut out both 8-0 and 5-0. Riverdale had a hard time with Hendersonville 1-1, and beat Shelbyville 5-1. Keeperfan, did you drink the Riverdale cool-aid? How do you compare these teams? I just don't see Riverdale holding Franklin to 1 goal.

/ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> Them thar's fightin words. I would doubt that Mr.300 would classify me among the Riverdale supporters. I know that Arman would not. Yes, Blackman through and through. You seem to have missed the point that I believe that Siegel will go deeper into state than Riverdale. Siegel's tougher competitve schedule is a distinct advantage. I just give the first game advantage to Riverdale.

I just think that Riverdale is pulling it all together right now. The several young ladies that I have watched play for the past 8 or 9 years on the Riverdale squad are pretty quick studies of the game, and what they miss, Ali will help them put the lessons learned into practice. Not a complete rarity, but they really seem to improve from game to game. Unfortunately for them, again, not enough high level competion to learn from to be in the last game of the season.

With regard to the Franklin game, I just think that Riverdale's back line is going to play over their heads during the fall break week. No school complete focus on soccer. I also think that their offensive attack is going to keep Franklin on their heels for most of the game. It is no longer a case of stopping Becca to stop Riverdale. Bottom line in my book was only 3 of Franklin's 10 wins have been against teams better than .500 while Riverdale has 6 of their 11 against winners. Loosing to a great team without scoring is just a testament to a good defense or empathy from the winning coach.

But again just a prediction. Since we are in the political season, I will revise and extend my remarks to be Riverdale with a 2 goal differential. And surprisingly, if wrong, it won't be the first time this season....or the last.

You are correct TTU79. In the first half, Franklin had 10 shots on goal to Riverdale's 1. In the second half, Franklin had 7 shots on goal to Riverdale's 4. Riverdale scored off of a couple of corners I believe. They just couldn't mount as many attacks from the mid-field as Franklin. Franklin controlled most of the mid-field game, however Riverdale did start winning more 50-50 balls in the beginning of the second half. Just my take. Good news...No major injuries.

HSSoccer, pretty acurate summary. Franklin dominated the first half. Ali changed his configuration for the second half, went to two forwards instead of one, much more even second half. Franklins second goal came with about 10 second left in the half, would have been nice to only be down 1-0 at half. riverdale made it 2-1 on a header off a cross and scored their second goal on a corner kick. Rained pretty good most of the second half but don't think it was a factor. Franklin is very good in all aspects.

Not sure about the source of your statistics but I do believe that Franklin's record against ranked teams this year after the Riverdale game is 5-2-1. Riverdale is a good team but Franklin has stepped up their play significantly since the "give away" tie to Ravenwood (7-0-0).

Combination of ES and CoachT Schedule analyzer. I don't keep up with who used to be ranked vs. who is now. Again congrats to Franklin. Sounds like they are making their case for state.

Nice to see a Siegel supporter drive all the way to Franklin on a rainy night to keep stats and scout the two teams. I do have a problem, however with the trash talking and comments directed at the girls during the game by the same person. There no need or place for that and your definitely old enough to know better.

O.K. global1, whoever you are. YOU DEFINITALY HAVE A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM. HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND? I will try to remain calm as I type this reply. If you wanted to push my button, it worked. If there has ever been a case of mistaken identity, this is it. If this accusation is directed toward myself, or the friend who was with me, you have made a TERRIBLE mistake. Yes we were at the game. We were there because we both have friends (parents and girls) on BOTH teams, and we knew it would be a good game. So, why in the world would I trash talk either team or players? Actually, we said hello to a couple of the dad??™s we knew, but never said a word the whole time we were there to anyone else or especially to any of the players. Also, why in the world would I be there to scout either team? I have seen both teams many times before, and I??™m not a coach, nor do I talk to the coaches. Trash talk players???¦.oh please. You obviously have absolutely no clue who I am. I know for a FACT the neither of us said one word to any of the girls, or parents on either team. This accusation is absurd. Actually, the ironic thing is that this is one of my pet peeves. I??™ve been around soccer for a long long time and I??™ve seen many many select, rec, and high school games. Anyone who knows me, knows that I will not tolerate a parent trash-talking players on my team or the opposing team EVER, for any reason. Yep you blew it. You should introduce yourself to me, PLEASE. You need to make sure that you have the right person before you start accusing someone of this crap on a public forum. You??™re incredible. Global1....Here's your sign!!

I agree.. I was at the game as well and their was not any trash talking that I noticed at either end of the field in either half. Many of the girls in this game have played travel together since they were young and even some Centennial girls came to watch their friends play. It was a hard fought game but at the end there were more hugs amoungst the players than anything else, which is how it should be. Global1 does not have a clue..

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
