i have always been a person that is easy to get along with and easy to talk to ... i have also always been a person to forgive and forget... but the thing is i have never heard a reason why that cloudland didnt pull for us... idk y....

 

I can tell you why. During that time, Mike Lunsford had just left where he had coached for 16 years to a rival school. That school was Hampton. Cloudland people were angry and some still are. I always thought everyone should just move on, but some people will not let go.

Facts are nobody knows all the story. Let it go. I've known Mike for many years and some of my best friends are at Hampton. It should be a good rivalry, but for the right reasons!

He just didn't like working at Cloudland.

I talked to him one time about it and I know why he really left. I was more angry at our own administration for trying to make it hard on him at the school. I'm not blind, we lost a good thing in him and its not been the same. I just hated to see him go to Hampton because they never appreciated their football program like the Cloudland people did their program. I feel like he is taking a back seat to people he really needs to be leading. I saw the offense that Hampton ran before Mike went down there. One time I watched them play Gatlinburg-Pittman and seriously J.C. is dumber than a rock when it comes to offense. The first thing I noticed after Mike went down there is hey! I like Hampton to win big over the muffins like King Leon calls them. The muffins about got burnt against Unaka and that is enough for me to figure they will finish no higher than 3rd or 4th.

ok the cat is out of the bag..... i dont like cosby or cloudland... every year in high school i really wanted to beat a different team and was fired up and ready to go....freshman-johnson county, happy valley...10th- it was the same teams... the my junior year it was cloudland and happy... senior- cosby-cloudland... and this year grace, cosby.... but here is why i have a problem with these ball clubs....

 

Cloudland...when bird was there... hampton went up there, they came down here and we took our loss and waved to them as they drove past us to go to state.... happy as could be that someone from carter county could bring it back.... then hampton moves to single A lunsford comes to hampton...it has never been the same... and the trash talking started.... we came up there after a huge win over happy valley.. and did what we came up there to do and u guys where sore losers...i did a tv interview after the game and then was escorted by 2 of my coachs... walking to the lockerroom i was hit with popcorn and had a pop threw at me but i hit one of my coachs instead... then we go to the forth round and cloudland lets Trousdale practice on there field...and then is down there on there side of the field.... my senior year was not even a game...we went to the forth round and didnt have your support agian....i dont understand... this year turdyfield turns hampton in 2 times... why? i dont know... if he is that afraid of getting beat he shouldnt play us and just forfit....that is the reasons why i dont care of the cloudland program....

 

Cosby....... my junior year we played our worst game of the year in a horrible rain storm... against an overlooked cosby... i broke and arm in the second quarter.... and i had like 35 carries and acouple of tds....and McGaha or magayhe or something had about 32 tackles on me... and he was a very nice boy... the best linebacker i played against besides estep from unaka....we won that game... nothing said besides excuses.... the next year the trash talk flames up and cosby is going to kill hampton.... i am more ready for this game and more focused then i have ever been in my entire life.. didnt talk at school or on the bus or to anyone...at all.... get down there and see signs in the lockerroom that says "take townsend out the game".... RIP signs.... a huge coffin with my name and picture on it... and a car that they beat up.... not real classy in my opinion... i break my leg the first play... Which was not intentional.. not on purpose.. i repeat not on purpose but everyone thought it was....then i read the cocke county paper the next day after my team went on to win the game..and the boy that tackled me got player of the week a said..... "that was the greatest feeling to take townsend out"....the lowe brothers were too cocky and didnt have a reason to be... shelton being a coach didnt have to make signs or any the other thing he did... it came off very bad...

 

that is the reasons why i have a problem, with the programs... no with the towns... im no cry baby.. i would not change anything that happened cause everything happens for a reason and i am more happy now than i ever had been...

that is an out and out lie. i know i was there at the game and also got the paper. no where was it said that was the greatest feeling about taking u out. as far as the lowe brothers being cocky is bologna. i ought to know im their stepfather. get your facts straight before you speak.
