How will the Eagles look in the homecoming game? Everyone knows what the outcome will be but how will they look? I heard that the eagles are suffering from a few injuries as of recently. Anybody have any updates on that?

Not sure about new injuries, but I heard Revis will be able to take part in a few plays this week. Fingers crossed. I sure would like to see him be able to finish out his Senior year. Prayers are with you, Kevin!

Yeah there are a few players who are recovering from injuries right now, but I see most of them being back soon. Revis is going to do some rehab drills this week on the dumbs and stuff. I don't see him playing friday, but I do see him coming back for Red Bank. Homecoming is a big week and special one too.

Well Chatt Central is coming up this week for a region 4-4A battle. They have had some troubles this year, but of that is do to being a young football team. They only returned 2 starters on each side of the line of scrimmage. They do have back Patrick Moore (6'0 175) the starting QB. He is a good dual threat QB, he can throw and run very well. However do to his injury earlier in the year he is not back fully to what he was before his injury. Robert Vipond (6'1 175) is a starting receiver, but also a great kicker/punter. He really impressed me with his leg last year. He also sees time in the secondary. They have a few other decent players to watch for, Nathan Bradford QB/CB (6'1 180 Soph) James Thomas FB/LB (5'9 165), Jonathan Robinson FB/LB (6'0 210) Very solid linebacker he had over 106 tackles as a soph last year. Preston Womack FB/LB (5'9 175). Central has a pretty solid group of linbackers. Central has some good wide recievers/ secondary players the only thing is the are young. Octavious Malone WR/DB (6'1 170) Very athletic football player he can catch and he has some very good speed. Chase Oliver WR/DB (6'2 160),DeHart Hubbard WR/DB (6'1 185)Very good football player, DeJuan Davis WR/CB (6'0 160). Very good at the cornerback spot. Central's lines are not that big they only avg around 6'0 225. This Central team is young but very athletic. Offense wise they run a few different formations like a wing-t, spread, could see some I formation and few others. Defense they are running a 4-3.

Not yet, his injury is going to take time. It will either just slip back in place on its own or one day at the chiropractor. I know he has been going to the chiroprator alot recently. It is just one of those things were he is just so big and muscular it is just hard for the hip to move back in to place.

Are the homecoming distractions (HC Queen/court) at halftime or before the game? Just wondering?

Also, I thought I heard Coach Fitz say in the huddle Friday night that Revis was going to come back this week and play some. I know he won't be needed, but it would be nice to see him play. Plus it would be good to knock of any rust (he probably won't have any) before we go to RB next week. We all know that we have to beat RB by 35 to win by 7 down there.

I'm not sure, Rhea Co?

The lack of message board chatter this week tells me that this game literally isn't worth talking about.

Eagles by half a hundred... at least.

Yeah. This should be the first time in a few years that we will actually win our homecoming game. I remember losing to Brainerd and McMinn the past couple. I remember that being an awful way to cap off a good week of school for the guys at RCHS. Hopefully, the boys in green and gold will put on a show tomorrow night. I'd like to see Rhea play like they did last week against WV, maybe even a score like a couple years ago at WV. I wouldn't mind hearing that announcer saying something like, "At the sight of the dancing football, Rhea County Golden Eagles-61, Chattanooga Central-ZIP." I know we beat WV 61-2 that year, but a shutout would be nice going into RB week.

    • A complete cultural change happened at Greeneville and the administration and community opened up their checkbooks.  What a lot of people don't know is Ballard was Zeller's OC for many years and stopped coaching for two years because Zeller and Ballard didn't see eye to eye on some things.  Zeller lead Greeneville to it's first ever Semi Final appearance in 2000 and lost 28-12 at Maryville and had them in the Quarter Finals in 2002 and 2003.  Z was a great coach but lost some control when it came to making workouts mandatory. (He learned from that Mistake and it was at LC when i coached with him.).  Z was let go going into my Senior Year and was replaced by Steve McCurry who was the one that turned the program around.  Steve had won a 4a state championship at AC Reynolds in Asheville and made the administration completely redo the weight room with new equipment, had a football period at the end of the school day to lift, started devil camp, and brought in coaches like Danny Bentley (Still the OL coach), Ballard as the OC, Cody Baugh (QB coach and still there), and even Spradlen who is Greeneville's head coach now as the DB's Coach.  McCurry only coached for two seasons at Greeneville and took a team that had a losing record the year before and finished my Senior Year making it to the Quarters and having a 10-3 record and then followed it up with a Semi Final appearance the next year with an 11-3 record and back to back conference championships.  Loved McCurry to death but the recession hit and the story i heard was he was still buying new equipment for the team that the Principal didn't authorize and his response was "I don't answer to you and only to Niswonger and Bewley" (Two huge donors).  That was it for him and they Promoted Ballard shortly after that.   Greeneville had always been relevant ever since the the late 70's under Coach Fred Sorrell's.  Since Sorrell's took over in 1977 Greeneville overall winning percentage is over 76%.  The biggest reason people might not have thought Greeneville was "Good" until Ballard was Greeneville always played up Classification wise and could never get over the hump. (When there were 3 classifications we played 3a, when it went to 5 we played 4a).  Greeneville is the largest its ever been with 953 students and where playing teams 2 or 3 times there size back in the day (I had a little over 800 kids in the school when i graduated in 2008).  Other teams always would know they would be sore after a game but depth took over and never won a Championship until Greeneville played in the classification the TSSAA actually assigned them. You had names like Dustin Moore (1993 Mr Football for 3a and who Phillip Fulmer said was one of the greatest athletes he ever recruited), James "Mud Turtle" Mayes, Brigham Lyons, Byron Gillespie, Frankie Debusk (National Champion Qb at Furman with GQ), Jasmine Lowery, Cody Baugh, The Greenway Brothers, Joe Watson (Furman), etc.  Now the cultural is from the Pee Wee league up and you grow up as a young kid wanting to wear the Greene and White.  Here is a really good link when it comes to anything Greeneville Football related. https://greenevillefootball.com/   I also don't coach anymore.  Z told me i was to smart with how the school systems are ran these days and ended up going into real estate in Knoxville which has been a great decision for my life.
    • Yes, they will. I'm wondering what kinds of strides Sale Creek will make heading into the second season under Coach Fitz.
    • No yellow stripes on the rug last night. Biggest crowd I’ve seen at 825 since the alco debacle.
    • I know most Pirate starters were seniors last year. Im not sure how accurate it is but someone said we only have 3 seniors. That Prep team will probably make some noise this coming season too.
