BTW - Sycamore is hosting Ensworth tonight.......and Ensworth is #1 in midstate. Gonna be a tough one for the War Eagles.

Don't know how this translates, but:

Columbia beat Sycamore 67-39 in a tournament

Ensworth beat Columbia 57-50 in the same tournament.

It's not going to be a fun game to watch for Sycamore fans. Gary Pope is a 6'-5" post that can jump out of the gym. Travarious Jefferson and the other guards are lightning quick. This is the same Ensworth team that jumped out on Harpeth by about 20 when they were freshmen 3 years ago before Harpeth settled in an pulled it out. I wouldn't want to play them as seniors.

Tough schedule, but it should help the War Eagles in district play. It's always good for our 11AA brethren to see what's out there competition wise. Fairview should try it.

Ensworth's guard play could be the best, quickest in the state and their ability to penetrate creates so many opportunities. My advice to Sycamore........don't try and run with these guys........slow it down and make it a halfcourt game.......run your offense.....and don't let em pick you off in the process. Try to make it a low scoring game and don't let em get off to the races.

KS - what's your take on the Harpeth vs Waverly game?

Waverly was the most improved team through the year last season and all those guys are back for the most part. They have good guard play and Coach Rawlings has a good scheme. I have heard that they have been in a slump of sorts, but were starting to pull out of it.

Harpeth has played better after Christmas than they did before. Some of their young guys are getting experience and the football players are getting their basketball legs back. Still, this team relies on Trey Carruthers. They go as he goes. Kendrick Jones could have a big game in the post tonight and Perry Horkins will get his 10-12 pts, but #23 makes it go. I am proud of the leadership skills he has displayed with a young team.

I think Harpeth wins by less than 10.

Yep. Harpeth followed up their inspired and well played win at Creekwood with a sloppy, uninspired and mostly crappy performance tonight. A sign of a young and inexperienced team. They don't hand out W's in this district, you have to earn them. Carruthers won it at the free throw line at the end.

Harpeth beat Wavo in an intense battle tonight. Caruthers had 20.

how u gonna say it like that, waverly played very well, indeed ya'll did to, but waverly took ya'll down to the wire and the game won't even be close on the 16th, we will see who is the better team at waverly, PS: your coach is very wicked, trey caruther only got one break during the time the clock was running and that was when he went down for the 1 and a half he went for, dude has heart to come back out there like he did still heart kudos to him. your coach doesn't think about his players . either way good luck until the 16th see ya then.

How u gonna say it like what? Was the game not intense and down to the wire? Didn't Carruthers have 20? What did HHS#1fan say?

I don't think so about the subbing. Trey sat for several minutes in both halves. 11 Harpeth players played, 4 freshmen. The kid signed up to play. CJ Watson averaged over 35 minutes for Bruce Pearl his senior year. It's nothing unusual for the best players to play the most minutes. You don't get 1000 points getting a breather on the bench.
