Bolivar football hasnt given me much to get excited about this year so i guess i can talk about the upcoming hoops season. Now these are my opinions based on last year and what teams have coming back mainly. If you put your 2 cents in please use teams that can reach the tourney. 5 teams from one region cant make it. this is to make it to state not your top 8.

A

Manassas The odds on favorite bring back probably the best player in the state Reggie Buckner along with Shaq Walker and Joe Northington at the guards

Humboldt Size and athleticism are plentiful for the Vikings guard play will be the key

Culleoka Like Humboldt Culleoka has a big athletic frontcourt backcourt issues will be Warriors problem in the first year AD

Collinwood

Temple Jeremy Sexton is the best player in the state no one has ever heard of

Gordonsville

University School

Greenback

AA

Fulton Lost a lot from a championship team but bring back Gallman and Steele

Austin East

Station Camp John Jenkins enough said

Livingston Academy

Christ Presbyterian

Bolivar Probably one of the best backcourts in the state in Tisdale Murphy and Reaves frontcourt production will be key for the Tigers to make a return trip

Mitchell Been in every one of the last three championship games and every year i say they wont get there they get there Wade one of the top 5 players in the class of 2010

Booker T. Washington The exact opposite of Mitchell picked to win it the last couple years didnt get there either one

Larry McGaughy and Bridges give them a new nucleus that is talented enough to dare i say it win state

AAA

Dobyns Bennett

Bearden

Oakland

Cookeville

Beech

Franklin

Melrose Sophomore Phenom Adonis Thomas leads a talent filled roster from the Mound tough to know if they have enough winning experience to beat out Ridgeway and Raleigh Egypt

White Station Joe Jackson and Farrakohn Hall hope to lead last year's runner ups back to the title game

Just curious to hear your input, but have you seen or heard anything about Oakland or Cookeville that would make you believe they will be in the state tourney. On paper, Siegel is the best team in 7-AAA

I agree except for A. Grace will return to state again this year. They have 85% of its scoring returning including thier top two players Pridemore 19ppg (ALL-State 2008) Slusher 15ppg (6' 5 All-Region) and thier 6' 5 Center 10ppg (MVP of Region Tourn) They have a much harder schedule this year that should prepare them for a better showing at state this year after a disappointing one last year shooting only 35% for the game.

I'm going with Manassas and Lake Co in Single A!

I believe east tn will have a good showing this year at state. Just my opinion, anything can happen when you get there.

East TN will bring home the gold in AA but that's it. Knox Fulton will come home with it. As for the rest, Manassas or Humboldt will bring the Class A gold home to the West. White Station or one of the other Memphis teams will bring home the AAA gold. Briarcrest Christian will bring home the D.IIAA gold ball. I'll say Memphis dominates Murfreesboro this year! Don't be surprised to see a Mitchell or Booker T. Washington to make another push to a state championship in AA. The teams in Memphis are so loaded this year!

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
    • Let's get and support the Pirates in Murfreesboro.
