3yardsandacloudofdust
Father Ryan gave Ensworth all they could handle last week. Can they rise up and salvage their season with a win over MBA? How does MBA come off of a bye week with Ryan, McCallie and the playoffs ahead? BigRedDad
It won't be close, MBA by at least 3 touchdowns

KWoodroof
Just out of curiosity, how do you justify such a large margin of victory given the 2 teams' performances against Ensworth? I avoid predictions under all circumstances. But I think there is a world of difference between the Ensworth offense hitting on all cylinders, and the Ryan offense. I also suspect that Ryan's performance against Ensworth was a major wake-up call for MBA, in the even one was needed (something i doubt very seriously). I think it'll be a very good game. I wonder what sort of effect the Ensworth loss will have on Ryan?

I suspect that their performance against Ensworth keeps a flame alive that they can still have the potential to be a "giant-killer" against MBA or BA. While the loss to Ensworth had to hurt, the fact that they were in the game until the end keeps them from the sense that their season has become completely irrelevant. A win against MBA or BA plus the performance against Ensworth would take a lot of the disappointment away from what was once a hopeful season. When you consider that 1 Ryan TD came on the opening kickoff return, the game wasn't that close. Watching the game I never had the feeling that Ensworth would lose until Ryan scored with 2 minutes to go. MBA will mix up the pass/run much better then Ensworth, and MBA pass defense is better then Ensworth's, Ryan didn't run the ball well at all against Ensworth. All in all MBA just might be a tougher match-up for Ryan then Ensworth was.

I think they're a little short on talent, but they certainly gave an impressive effort. There's been a lot of trashing the Ryan team by "supporters" on here. For my part, I think they've represented the school well: they work hard, they give it their best shot, and they don't give up. I don't know how the current Ryan students look at the MBA-Ryan game. I think at MBA, BA has replaced them as the great rival. For men my age, Ryan is still the game, and i would be extremely unhappy with a loss to them. I think Ryan still thinks of MBA as their number 1 rival and still feels that they have had a game or two "stolen" from them by questionable referee calls (e.g., phantom holding call by the back judge on a Ryan TD that might have cost them the game 2 years ago.) That being said, I have heard Ryan kids basically say they dread playing BA and MBA. They need to beat one or the other to renew a true rivalry. Remember what Gerry DiNardo said about the UT-Vandy rivalry?
