So I log on to read about District 4-A/Lady Cat Basketball and this is what awaits me? An internet argument over Morgan County's dysfunctional school system? Are you kidding me?

It's still by belief OSHS should have remained in AA regardless of the decrease in enrollment which dropped OS to Single A.

The school and city have more in common with these schools

Anderson County (Clinton)

CAK (Knoxville)

Kingston

Knoxville Catholic (Knoxville)

Loudon

Scott County (Huntsville)

Stone Memorial (Crossville)

than

Wartburg

Coalfield

Sunbright

and Oakdale

The games were a lot more interesting, too.

Why don't you morgan countians just meet at Partners Pizza ( if it's still open) and have it out there and spare us non Morgan county people from reading your internal squabbles.

I really don't see anyone but the lady cats winning the district championship this year. They have a great group of seniors, and I'm sure they'll keep the team focused on the right goals. To me, the real competition is for second place. I see Coalfield probably picking this up. They return a very talented group who could possibly give OS a run for their money, but I see the lady cats coming out on top once again this year.

Couple things:

The first being:

I don't follow Oliver Springs, Roane, Anderson, or East Tennessee politics. I could care less what happens at the Oliver Springs town council meetings, Morgan County school board meetings, or any politics in East Tennessee. I have a suspicion most posters agree this isn't the forum even if I did care.

The Second being:

This is a sports message board. It's focus should be sports related and not Morgan County political squabbles. It's always great when you see factions hijack threads and turn the conversation into something other than the topic at hand. This is a basketball thread where X's and O's, players, and other applicable sports information to district 4-a basketball should be discussed.

Registering?

Let's keep the focus on Sports and not bickering- especially when that bickering is Morgan County politics.

Wartubrg will probably fare a little better than Oakdale did. I will agree with you though Wartburg is not very good until they've played a couple of games. It seems like that's been the case out there since I can remember. It should be good for their younger players to be in that gym and face that kind of opponent.

C'Range by 25 or so

J.C. and O.S. will be a good game because O.S. is used to being in big games. They have the ability to play with anyone and have experience to boot with Hall, Christopher and Co.

O.S. by 9 at their place. K.C. will have 30+ points against the J.C. Man defense.

After watching Coalfield and Harriman last night I have to change my distict picks.

OZ

Oneida/Wartburg

Wartburg/Oneida

Oakdale/Coalfield

Coalfield/Oakdale

Sunbright

A friend of mine said Harriman should win their distict if so their distict is way down. Both teams looked bad Coalfield came away with the win but they are not what I thought they would be I dont see them being higher in the distict than maybe 4th if that.

Harriman is the best their distict has they are way down this year. OZ should have a cake walk to the sub-state forsure.

I seen some results of a few games for 4-A. Coalfield over Harriman (Harriman may be one of the best teams in their district) , Oakdale over Scott County(by 2), Jackson Co over Oliver Springs (only by 8...great job Lady Cats), and Clarkrange over Wartburg (by 23).

Any thoughts after these games? Any other results for teams in this district?

Nice to finally get started. Best of luck to all teams. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

About Jackson County and O.S!

I really think that O.S. could beat them in this one but Close. O.S. has the best player in A and I don't think that J.C. will be able to handle her at her place.

O.S. is the class of Region 2A this year and should be a force! They would also like to avenge a big loss at the start of last season. O.S. by 6!

IMO I don't think that C'Range and Wartburg will be much of a game because they are never very good this time of year. Last year lost to Pickett Co. and Greenback.

C'Range by 25!

    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
