South Pittsburg @ Grace Academy

As far as passing, Grace played pretty well in the secondary outside of the blown coverage that the WR dropped.

Sorry but it wasn't blown coverage.... Grace's secondary was beaten all night including that dropped pass that was a TD. Just so you know I was standing on the sidelines right where the WR and DB were going down the sidelines so I had a front row seat. Our QB had an off night passing or we are up by 4 or 5 TDs at the half. Instead he throws a couple bad balls that are intercepted...the receivers were wide open. Not a great night passing for SP.

Jones cant hold a candle to Blake........speed (not even close) athleticism (not even close).....DJ is decent but not the caliber of Blake all around

2seam...you and dadoffour need to give both players their due instead of letting your hatred of SP make you look like you know nothing about football. Josh is slightly faster than David (4.4 vs 4.5) and he is more elusive. He is a tremendous athlete, an outstanding competitor and I see him playing at a DI school at WR or a DII school at QB. David is a stronger and more physical player that I see as a LB at the DI level or RB at the DII level. The difference in the performance of SP's O and D in the 1st half vs the 2nd half (where we dominated) shows anyone with any football sense what a force David is. Both Josh and David have different skills that make them outstanding football players and both deserve to be finalists for Mr Football

Blake was 11 for 26. Like I said, I was commenting on the 3rd quarter when Jones came in with fresh legs. Regardless, Blake and Grace's offense were dominant. Sure, Spitt won the game with their superior size and speed, but the 3rd quarter showed me what Grace was capable of and how to beat Spitt.

If you think Blake is all Grace had you must have forgotten Grace's wide open receivers that had blown past their coverage

This shows how little you know about football /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> . You consider it dominant when an offense can move the balls some but only scores 10 points total. Grace's WR's did not blow past anyone...6-7 secs of scrambling will allow 1 of 5 receivers to get open even in the NFL and most of the time they got open underneath our coverage which is what we wanted...give up the short stuff and keep it in front of you. Even with that did you notice that Josh had to throw away the football 6 or 7 times and was sacked 3 or 4 times. With a QB like Josh that shows how well our DBs did covering receivers and that is without David in the first half. 11/26 is 42 % and he only had 119 yrds passing....I'll take that anytime against a QB like Josh. He is likely the best QB we will face all year. Our defense did a tremendous job to contain him as well as we did. Watertown will have their hands full next week and I fully expect Grace to play Trousdale in the 2nd round

Zone,

Dadoffour is just mad because TT probably tried to recruit David and turned down a scholarship, a house, and new car. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I never pretended to be an expert on football. I just made some comments about the 3rd quarter. What I do seem to be an expert on is raising your blood pressure. Man you're defensive.

Good luck with that state championship. Based on what I saw last night, you're going to need it.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
