Camden at Waverly

I don'r recall PapaT disrespecting not even one Lion on that field last night. I think the remark about the zebre is pretty funny myself. Maybe a little uncalled for, but funny anyway. PapaT has stated more than once the the Lions were the better team last night, what more do you want of him. I also do not recall any Tiger fan disrespecting any Lion player or fan, just the zebra's in question. So why is it that you want to continually put Waverly down, just to be plain mean is what I think. I really believe that Waverly and Camden need to get together and cheer for each other going into the playoffs. Go region 7aa.

By the way, back in 2006 I think, my entire family and many of my friend loaded up just to come to Camden and cheer the Lions on against CPA in the playoffs. I seen many, many Waverly players and fans there that night for you all. I know there was no sitting, and very little standing room, but we were still there. I would hazard a guess of at least 200 Waverly people for The Camden Lions. Supporting you all. So please quit dissing our players..........

You need to read my post again. I'm not dissing your players. I'm just sick of the excuses. Waverly didn't make the plays and Camden did. Simple as that. That's all I'm saying.

As far as papaT goes, I guess theres nothing wrong with blatant homerism, but seriously! You want Lion fans to give Waverly credit where credit is due, then you need to reciprocate.

I'm sure you are not understanding this concept of we have all stated that Camden was the better team last night, they did win, they did play very well. We are just stating that we were better than you gave us credit for. I will state that from where I was that was a bad call, and it did hurt our momentum. Had we kept the ball, scored, tied, then chances are very good that we would have went to overtime, and walked away the better team. You can sit and say excuses all you want to, but I don't see it that way. We will continue to back Camden as far as they go in the playoffs, and wish both teams the best.

My prediction is 35-7 CAmden. ( this was your prediction )

The final score was 42-28

I think we did better than you expected.

Yes and the true Waverly fans are disappointed in our crowd too. It's a shame whether a team is 0-10 or 10-0 that the community doesn't get behind them. Count your lucky stars Camden that your community supports you. That is very important. Be proud of it. We can only hope that one that that will return as it once was.

i agree, i have always been disappointed in the community support...even my freshmen year when waverly had such a great basketball team we had little support except for the parents and the students which this year the students don't seem to have the school spirit that had been there last year and the years before. i went to nearly every game last year even with the 0-10 record and trust me i think i jumped about as high as anyone when we finally scored the first touchdown of the season against hickman county lol...but like i said earlier i would of loved to be there last night but wasn't any possible way i could have, if the game woulda been played tonight i would of deffinently made the trip home and i know many other college students would have to!! you know the school spirit is bad when after a win there are more college students up singing the alma mater than current students, i think the school needs to do something about that. i believe me and nwtf have some of the best school spirit still even though we'r out of wavo central...we'r still doing our best to keep the blue crew facebook group up to date and try to encourage everyone to go but theres not much else we can do

I was at the game last night as an interested observor only.. Not biased to either side....First and foremost Waverly is better than I thought, Camden is either not as good as I thought, or flat(I think it was a mixture of both)..With that being said if Waverly played Camden 10 times....I give the nod to Camden 9 of 10...But I think Waverly COULD beat Camden....Did I think so before I attended the game last? Not at all...

About the calls....Anytime you have (not sure of his name.....but its a wierd name that begins with a Z....like Zglier)the red headed side judge...your going to have some bad officiating....He seems to get a biased about a team, and will call everything against that team throughout the game....Did you not notice that all big plays...both ways seemedto have a flag...Its a shame that he tries to setermine every game...The white hat (wally) is usually a good ref...But none of them seemed to have it together last night...I dont know what happened on the onside because I was sitting on the waverly side (why....because of the bleacher situation...that I will explain later)..Papa pretty sure that you would not of been able to see it either to say FORSURE!!!!I mean I dont have 20/20 vision...but....The pass interference as always is a judgement call...Yes it was in the field of play...If the Waverly defender didnt tackle the guy would he of caught it....who really knows?I dont think he would of been able to catch it....Would I from where I was at called the flag...YES!Camden had a bunch of big plays called back with holding....IS their holding on every play...YES...The refs were not good, but its hard to say that it was the outcome of the game...

I left after Dudley scored on that run to make the game out of reach... when I got in the car I listened to you at the end of the game (last 2 minutes)... You were WRONG on a lot of things you said...and then you contridict what you said on air on here...Let me give you some quotes of what I heard all in about 5 minutes of listening..."The best team did not win tonight"... "The refs cost them the game"... something about coacht posters.."and tlaking about the emptyness of camdens fan base....

Start with the first quote...I think that was just caught up in the moment...Camden was the better team....Alot better....Do not know if I would go that far....I am still a believer that Camden will be the onyl team in the region out of the first round...But this region will be in the worst Quad... I think Camden would beat Waverly 9 out of 10 times...

The next quote...How could you say that...even if they get the onside....they still ahve to score...make the extra point...(which they have already missed one!)..And thats all for a overtime game (where I like Camdens kicking game and running game in this situation)...So cost them the game...I think not....Coast them a chance to win the game...Maybe.....But i dont think that would of happened.... Waverly never led....Its that simple...

The last quote is my favorite.... Camden had as many people there as waverly did..... I saw this myself when the score went 28-7... a heard of Camden fans left...Along with some waverly people... I sat on the waverly side on the sid e opposite of the band...In that section there were more observors and Camden fans than waverly fans...And moreon thelines of this...My wife came with me last night...She pointed out all the camden people leaving when the score became 28-7....She also pointed out that there were more Camden fans than Waverly..I would say it was close because waverly home side will seat alot of people and a big crowd would stillstruggle to fill it up....

On waverly...They pass the ball very well...they found some great plays that worked very well against Camden (the screen...some out routes)...They seemed as if they looked at what SC did against Camden last week and tried to mock the plan...I thought Waverly should of continued to run those plays more early, and make Camden stop them.... waverly is probably the second best team in the region....Could SC beat them...YES....if they played ten times I would take Waveryl in 6 or 7...Alot of this is a result of Waverly tough schedule...They have a chance to compete in the playoffs....the schedule made them better prepared than SC....Do I think they will win the first round of the playoffs...I think that Waverly, camden, and Fairview are the three worst teams in the quad-to-be....

On camden.....They just do not make mistakes...Very solid....The pass defense is very suspect....I am afraid CPA and USJ would expose that ... I do not think camden is as good this year as years past.....They are still the class o the region...but them getting a bit worse and Waverly and SC improving....Things would get interesting if the regions were breaking up....

To make this clear...I was WRONG...waverly can play with Camden...It was not as bad as the score indicated...but I do think once the score got 28-7 ...Camdne shut down trying to score....THey were just ready to get ready for the playoffs at that point...

Well let me begin by saying, "are you saying I was right, that Waverly could compete?" Second, I don't recall saying on the radio the better team lost, if I did, I don't recall and I would have been wrong. Third, if I said the refs cost us the game. Yes, I did and I still believe that. The onside call until I hear from the coaches was correct killed us. The pass interference you referred to. Was when the Camden reciever jumped high in the air for a pass 3 yards over his hands, and the Waverly guy was standing there trying to avoid him, and the reciever came down on him, bumping him, not tackling. Coach Graves was furious about that call too. He and I talked about that on the post game. No Camden didn't shut down, you know that, they know that, Waverly's defense outplayed them all night. Did you not see the total yardage. It was even at the half 135-135. After the break Waverly had 240 yards and Camden 116 (46 coming on that last run) total yardage Waverly 375, Camden 251. Don't matter the best team won last night and I believe both teams will get out of first round. The game is over, let's drop it.

Yes...Waverly is better than I thought...No they were not the best team on the field..Camden is the type of team that does not have to win the yardage battle to win the game...the defensive strategy is bend and not break...Especially with a 21 point lead agaisnt a team that CAN score against them....And if your want to get particualr about the yardage one could say that Camden was looking not to give up the big play and thats where waverly racked up the yardage? Camden did win...Camden was the better team..And I am 100% sure thats what you said... You always drop things when you are WRONG....See what I did when I was wrong is I came out and said so and then debated the rest of the game..When your wrong you jsut "Drop it"...And Waverly will not reach the second round of the playoffs...

The refs were bad....But you were also wrong about your crowd comment on the radio too!! Also jsut because your coaches say something, does not mean its right...

Somebody needs to say something about the first onside kick. One of the best I have seen in high school football. Bounced perfect and the only thing that prevented Waverly from recovering was a Camden player that came up and knocked the ball out of bounds in a great heads up play.

Yes, the Waverly player touched the ball before it went 10 yards on the second onside kick.

The officiating was about par for most of the trips I have made to Waverly. Maybe a little worse than usual.

Good Luck to everyone in the playoffs!

That was a great onside kick wasn't it. I meant to mention it but didn't. Took a great bounce. But actually, the ball hit a Waverly player right in the numbers and he just didn't pull it in. Good game though wasn't it. Both teams left it on the field. Good luck to Stewart County in playoffs.
