Bunkie is not only a gun slinger . He is dangerous on foot aswell. He ran for the only td Greenback got on us .

He is fast and illusive. This is the game to watch Friday . It is the only one I can't pick the outcome to . Both are very good teams . This game could go either way. I predict a close one!!

Maybe your starting to come around /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> this game will be the one to watch, just to see how greenback reacts to the adversity.

Greenback is a good team and Hampton is well aware of it, The Hampton Coaches watched them the other night. Oneida ,Johnson Co and Happy Valley were all good teams too ,none of them blew Hampton out, I don't reajlly see why this one would be any different. Hampton can play with Greenback .

I have no doubt that you can play with them, But you really have to stay on top of your game or that Qb will sneak one in on you.Hampton can win, but Green back can put points on you quick, and then your out of time and going home.

Getting beat by Oneida may have been the best thing to ever happen to GB. I hate that it ruined their chance at the 10-0 season that they so coveted. They really want to compare themselves to the 87 GB Championship team. The only thing that would have made it worse was if it had been there last game for those group of seniors. BUT you know what, it wasn't. There is another game day for these kids and they can learn a lot from thie Oneida game. 1) Don't get so emotional during the game that you chew your own teammates, they want it just as bad as you, & hey one kid can't block 2 rushers coming from different angles. Your coach should have made an adjustment. 2) Don't be so determined or stubborn to win/lose through the air. You have an awesome back in #7 Willis (uncles were great backs at GB in the 90's) who for some reason does not get used near enough. That kid should get 20 touches a game like his uncles did & the Hanley kid from the 87 Championship team. Run mhim until some body stops him. It would really help open your receivers up more. This kid got 1st downs anytime they needed them. Then they take him out for two-three plays. Not sure what is up with that. Maybe after watching Oneida run it down our throats and only pass when it counted will help them see the light. 3) They really need an "offensive coordinator" and not a "passing coordinator". Take what the defense gives you. When you learn to balance it more we'll be able to compete with the Oneida's. 4) Is there anyone on the coaching staff that knows how to make a defensive adjustment duriung the game? 5) Captains need to rally the team and make sure they have a "team" going into Friday night. Get over the "Bunkie ball" and play GB ball. We're not the Patriots or Colts for goodness sake. RUN the ball..............I promise it won't hurt that much. Bunkie is an awesome competitor with a true heart for the game, somewhere down the line his head got a little big (not hard for a kid to do when you focus so much of your offense around the one kid - too one dimensional) The coaches, fans, newspapers think he is all we got. That is because that is all you have seen. RUN the ball......... Ask any player from the STATE CHAMPS team from 87 what they relied on. It was the run. And their QB was awesome. He was unselfish and did what it took to win. He was OK not throwing every play. I could write a novel on where GB needs to step it up or the Seniors will be regretting this chance lost for the rest of their lives. GB responds 21-13

If I didn't know any better I would think you wanted them to run the ball. Just joking, please don't take it the wrong way, just in a good mood tonight.

I think some adjustments did need to be made on defense. The defensive ends seemed to be going to deep in the backfield and the Oneida backs were cutting it inside of them, but nobody was there to fill the hole.

I have heard the comparisions to the '87 team, and they are very similiar, but I don't like to compare teams from different decades. For one, football was played differently back then than it is today. Back then smash mouth football was played by everyone, today there are too many pro-sets, spread, and other game plans to play from. Also, back then if you were 6'0"-225 you were considered big, now you are considered average size. Anyway thats just my opinion, take it for what its worth or don't take it at all.

I talked to a member of that '87 team Saturday and jokingly asked him if the '87 team was like the '72 Dolphins and popped open a bottle of champagne after the loss. He said "no, that hurt us as bad as it did them".

I do read some of the threads from other teams . I don't know enough about most teams in the other regions to have a comment. I do know sp and tc are the teams to keep up with when that time comes.

As far as Greenback and hampton goes , I think if Hampton comes to play 4 quarters this could be a good game.

If hampton gives Greenback anything they will take it and more.Greenback came out explosive on us but didn't expect us to keep playing . Not braging on Oneida but these kids don't pay alot of attention to the score board.

They just want to play another down. I think Oneida played as well in the 4th as they did at the kick off. Greenback wasn't used to playing 4 quarters and couldn't keep that explosive mentality.Man that is a big word for me ,I hope I spelled it wright.

Good luck to both teams .I don't know who to pull for , I like both teams.

You must really dislike Hampton. Not sure were all the bad feelings came from. Good luck to Cloudland. It will take a superior effort to be competitive against Oneida. Hopefully you guys can compete.

I really don't dislike the team all that much, just a few of your posters on here. You seem to be one of the good ones. People really get tired of hearing how great Hampton is. Now that another team or teams have stolen the spotlight, the fans start bellyaching excuses. It shows a lack of class to not give another program credit for their accomplishment. Hampton wore my Highlanders out the other night. They were the better team. Some people are just so proud, they can't even admit defeat. Thats what bothers me so bad about Hampton. Of course, its not hard to praise programs like Trousdale and South Pitt when they beat you. But now that Cosby has raised the bar and beat you, some of the true colors have come out. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

and how long have you belittled Hampton. You for sure have set no example in how to give credit where credit is due. you just prefer sucking up to whoever, except for Hampton. It's okay though, we don't need you.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
