You have no idea how fast I read and type. Really fast. Today I have taught Sunday school, been to church, cleaned the house, washed two loads of clothes, (and put them up), visited my Mother, and walked the dog. I even had time for a nap. I could help you learn to read and write faster if you wanted me to. I haven't had this much fun in a long time. It's fun to rattle a few cages and watch the mice run out. Thanks for the fun times, now go clean the pool.

You know, I was going to write something about how great you are. Surely you are the greatest. I'm sure you're going to work your way to heaven. Then I thought, no, I'll just ask you if you are going to read all of your posts to your Sunday School class. I'm sure they would be impressed with your, uh, meekness and gentleness.

But, instead, I'll just stick to a few facts. First, lady, you are the one who brought up your son and his teeth on the internet before a gazillion potential readers. Save the sanctimonius garbage about shivers running up and down your spine because someone else brought him back up to you. Second, there you go, assuming again. But, IF at this point I did choose to go to a school, I think I'd pick a Lipscomb over yours any day. They don't seem to be blaming public schools for all of their problems. Third, give me a break on the "I just want to express my little ole opinion." Your words were perjorative and absolute. You did not start out on this with "I think" anything. It was "NO Lipscomb" this and "NO way Christian" that and "NO poor people at all" (why, that worthless Dyed Purple doesn't even know the definition of poor). You must know. I'm sure you've been to every Christian school in the state, interviewed the kids, parents, teachers, janitors, etc. to determine that there are NO POOR PEOPLE IN CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS. I mean, how could there be, "Christian" schools don't even exist, so how could there be poor people there. You MUST have awesome facts to back up your comments.

Save the sermons, Tammy Faye, we've all seen your kind before on T.V.

Have a nice Thanksgiving. I just hope you and your kind can find something to be thankful for. As for me, I'm going to see if I can find a thread about football....

Boy, I told you not to mention my son again. I was answering another poster who I know, and I don't want some weird, creepy, stranger thinking about him or talking about him. I am not meek and gentle a lot of the time and I will take your posts to Sunday school to show them what a private school education can produce. Anyone in my class could clean your clock and some of them are over 70. I didn't say "no way" anything. I don't think Dyed Purple knows anything about the poor or at least if he does, I couldn't tell it from his posts. He really doesn't seem to be such a bad guy, but just a little out of touch. You couldn't possibly know what the big words you used mean, because you can't even comprehend the meaning of my post and I'm not going to try to explain it to you again. "Me and my kind" have a lot to be thankful for and we know it. There is no need for you to find a thread about football. You are too cowardly and gutless to ever know a thing about football. Go to the weird, creepy guy websites. Is that meak and gentle enough for you. RUN!

Look, Tammy, you brought your son up on the internet. The WORLD WIDE WEB. Get over yourself. Your "maybe if I call him bad names everyone won't realize what drivel I've been posting" trick won't work. You teaching Sunday School, much less trying to explain anything, is actually pretty amusing. Why should I go to a creepy guy website? Your creepy mom site is pretty entertaining.

Preach on Tammy Faye. Your true colors, or is that your mascara, are starting to run.... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Public v Privite WHO CARES!!!!Both schools DL AND GC have there problems always have always will both have poor people attending both have their share of Good Christian people and their share of those that are not. As too football and recruting ALL schools have to follow the same guide lines or they would NOT be playing for the TSSAA in any sport. This is susposed to be about the kids and a game that we all love. ALL OF YOU have taken this WAY TO FAR this game is OVER and in the books LET IT GO. the way it sounds both teams had a completly equal chance in this game and for that mater GC should have won from the way it sounds. Thats all in the past though so lets get back to football on here and move on.

I thought you were going to a site where they talked about football. I guess the football talk was too tough for you, so you are back over here saying more creepy stuff to me. See I told you that you were too cowardly and gutless to discuss football. Why are you reading and responding to drivel? You should go to the creepy guy websites, because you are a creep. Slither back under that rock. You sure know a lot about mascara for a guy.

Yes it was a great game. These are two really good teams. GC defense held really well up until the end of the game what happened did they change defensive packages or what? I agree, in both of the games against DL the clock became the final factor in the game you just can't give a team like DL the time to score at the end of a game. I see another great battle next year in the playoffs.

I am difinitly not a DL fan but they are a class act and their coaches probably prefer to play teams that show equal class.

By the way do you feel that? shake, shake,shake..................shake,shake,shake That should refresh all of Giles Co about what I am saying about class.

Sound a little bitter there, class should be shown on the field as well as off.

You need to look at little closer to the threads this past week. My ID is already noted. Lets just put it this way. I have many very close contacts. As I said, I had no problems with his comments. Bo's a competitor and made his comments just a bit soon. (was the jest of my post...just a bit soon.)

That Eddie Haskell really shines through in all your comments. Now that everybody knows, its so easy to see /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I think that would be classified discrimination and I could sue you. I'm just joking.

I'm a mommy also and proud of it, I love watching my son play and am very proud of the GC team and I have the right to say so just like anyone else does be they male or female. I guarantee there's more mommies posting on here than you would have thought.

I am lost. Who was her son..Chris Farley? or some kid referencing teeth chattering. What position did he play or what was his number. Don't quite understand the fuss. Perhaps I am more thick skinned...for a number of years, references were made to my sons, being linebackers, defensive back-Punter and offensive lineman. I didn't take it personal. People have called out Lipscomb players by name for years, I don't think their parents got all worked up.

Da Game. Da Game. Stick to the dang game! David Lipscomb had no advantages other than home field advantage in which they won out right. Game of inches and seconds. We won the inches, they won the seconds.

(My thoughts before the game)

???Friday's game will come down to defense. DEFENSE wins championships. Look for the side line to be electric. You are going to hear some licks in the stands. Giles County now wants it deep inside. They refuse to give up. They play as a team. They step up. They won't quit. ???Da Man??? is finally within their reach. Attitude alert!!!! We now Expect to win. Thats powerful!???

Three years ago coach O'Connor got waxed the first meet. Took them to the third round and lost with a few seconds to go. Last year, majority of the players were sophomores and freshmen. This year, both games were within our reach. The first was truly a draw. The second? Even most David Lipscomb fans I talked too admitted we should have won. Backs against the wall. Time running out. They made the plays. The won. End of story. No excuses.

So, lets analyze the GCHS program. Up until three years ago, it would have been a regular season game. With two minutes gone in the 1st quarter, DL would sub the water boy, the grounds keeper, cheerleaders, that guy who's always jogging around the stadium before games, ( I think he's some kind of secret weapon), and the team mom and still the clock would be allowed to run during half time to keep it under a 50 point spread. (which coach Mac does). You know. Its hurts bad now to lose because we expect to win. I remember well the seasons we were hoping to get 2 wins. Maybe 3 if all went well. Although this hurt is deep, it's not nearly as bad or the same as embarrassment. From a life long Bobcat, it feels GOOD to be on here in November talking up Giles County Football! Coach O'Connor IS building a program the right way. Hard work. Dedication. Teaching. Look at the numbers. Thats DL's strength. Numbers. Three years ago we had 15 or so seniors on the field. Third round result. Last year. Maybe 5. First round one and done but there were 15 or so underclassmen gaining experience. This year. Maybe 6 on the field at the same time but 18 or so juniors and sophomores playing a lot. Recap. Now, each class is at least 17 or more strong all the way to the 8th grade class. All learning OC's system. All learning the assistant coaches teachings. We got former players now playing college ball at practice and on the sidelines. Numbers. Numbers in experience. Numbers in success. Them numbers are starting to snowball in the right direction. This team lost three starters to injury or other reasons and never missed a beat. That is what numbers do for you.

Only two comments made after the game I want to address. First. I do think this was the championship game. David Lipscomb. Prove me right. Second. A poster inquired ???was coach O'Connor out coached???. Not at the game I watched. I believe the class that coach Mac has, he would be the first to agree with me. To coach O'Connor and his staff. Thank you. Thank you for where we are at as a program. Thank you for the examples you set and the work equals success equals rewards you are instilling in these young men. In the future, we will look back at the accomplishments of these young men in life and know it started the old fashioned way. They are successful because they were taught to give their best every day and giving up is not an option.

Go Bobcats!!!

    • I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
    • Dyersburg scrimmaged South Gibson last week
    • A complete cultural change happened at Greeneville and the administration and community opened up their checkbooks.  What a lot of people don't know is Ballard was Zeller's OC for many years and stopped coaching for two years because Zeller and Ballard didn't see eye to eye on some things.  Zeller lead Greeneville to it's first ever Semi Final appearance in 2000 and lost 28-12 at Maryville and had them in the Quarter Finals in 2002 and 2003.  Z was a great coach but lost some control when it came to making workouts mandatory. (He learned from that Mistake and it was at LC when i coached with him.).  Z was let go going into my Senior Year and was replaced by Steve McCurry who was the one that turned the program around.  Steve had won a 4a state championship at AC Reynolds in Asheville and made the administration completely redo the weight room with new equipment, had a football period at the end of the school day to lift, started devil camp, and brought in coaches like Danny Bentley (Still the OL coach), Ballard as the OC, Cody Baugh (QB coach and still there), and even Spradlen who is Greeneville's head coach now as the DB's Coach.  McCurry only coached for two seasons at Greeneville and took a team that had a losing record the year before and finished my Senior Year making it to the Quarters and having a 10-3 record and then followed it up with a Semi Final appearance the next year with an 11-3 record and back to back conference championships.  Loved McCurry to death but the recession hit and the story i heard was he was still buying new equipment for the team that the Principal didn't authorize and his response was "I don't answer to you and only to Niswonger and Bewley" (Two huge donors).  That was it for him and they Promoted Ballard shortly after that.   Greeneville had always been relevant ever since the the late 70's under Coach Fred Sorrell's.  Since Sorrell's took over in 1977 Greeneville overall winning percentage is over 76%.  The biggest reason people might not have thought Greeneville was "Good" until Ballard was Greeneville always played up Classification wise and could never get over the hump. (When there were 3 classifications we played 3a, when it went to 5 we played 4a).  Greeneville is the largest its ever been with 953 students and where playing teams 2 or 3 times there size back in the day (I had a little over 800 kids in the school when i graduated in 2008).  Other teams always would know they would be sore after a game but depth took over and never won a Championship until Greeneville played in the classification the TSSAA actually assigned them. You had names like Dustin Moore (1993 Mr Football for 3a and who Phillip Fulmer said was one of the greatest athletes he ever recruited), James "Mud Turtle" Mayes, Brigham Lyons, Byron Gillespie, Frankie Debusk (National Champion Qb at Furman with GQ), Jasmine Lowery, Cody Baugh, The Greenway Brothers, Joe Watson (Furman), etc.  Now the cultural is from the Pee Wee league up and you grow up as a young kid wanting to wear the Greene and White.  Here is a really good link when it comes to anything Greeneville Football related. https://greenevillefootball.com/   I also don't coach anymore.  Z told me i was to smart with how the school systems are ran these days and ended up going into real estate in Knoxville which has been a great decision for my life.
    • Yes, they will. I'm wondering what kinds of strides Sale Creek will make heading into the second season under Coach Fitz.
    • No yellow stripes on the rug last night. Biggest crowd I’ve seen at 825 since the alco debacle.
