OOLTEWAH FOOTBALL 2008

We need to schedule a game every year with a team from region 4 to see what we need to improve on... They have shown us and every one else that reg.4 is very good. why not go play the best... This will help us next year and years to come in the play-offs....

That is a VERY good idea. At least that way the way Region 4 plays would not come as a total surprise.

I also think y'all need to schedule either Baylor or McCallie, if for nothing else the lack of travel expense and a good gate every other year. Somebody needs to point that out to whoever insists on NOT playing them in football.

Congrats to #36 for being selected Mr Football lineman of the year in 5A. I know he would rather be preparing to play this Saturday, but he was a force all year.

On another note saw that Smyrna is looking for games. Murfreesboro is not too far to travel, just a little longer than the drive to Farragut. That would be a great test and give us that Region 4 expierence we need to get over the hump. Probably won't happen though.

Go Owls

First I would like to say congrats to Ooltewah on a great season. Congrats to #36 Jacquez Smith for winning lineman of the year for 2008 and hope you have a wonderful senior year without any injuries. You are special kid and it has been a joy to watch you play this year. Even thou Farragut and Ooltewah will not play each other next year unless in the playoff I will keep a watch on how you and the Owl's will do next year because it could be a special one for you guys. Good luck and best of wish to you guys.

P.S. I always had a wonderful time coming down to Owl country to watch a Farragut and Ooltewah game. Wonderful fans and a great high school football atmosphere down there.

Who will take over for Polk at RB next year. Would there be any chance the Freshman Johnathan Parker (JP) could get playing time, maybe start next year. I coached him growing up and know how good he is. I think he had a pretty successfull season this year as a freshman. Anyone have any thoughts?

No shot at all.......to much baggage, right now.

    • Groves got the ball over 20+ times. His son arguably played the best for East in that game. 3rd and long multiple times and he came up big to continue a couple drives. Please shut up for the 3rd year in a row
    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
