Be thankful that you were like most of Cookeville's fans and didn't show up. I was really shocked by Cookeville's small turnout! Only one word needed to describe this game--- U-G-L-Y! A win is a win but this one sure wasn't pretty! It was a very sloppy and close game until LA pulled away in the 4th.

Final was 74-59 LA but was anybody's game until the 4th. Brad Jackson had a huge second half and Dunn was Dunn!

Ugly win IMO for the Wildcats...but a win is a win. Another game closer to the goals set before season started. Brad Jackson was the man tonight! Great game for Brad. As ugly as it was, there was some good things too. I thought the hustle for the most part was there and give Cookeville credit, they were scrappy and played tough. And any time you beat a good team 15+ on an off night, that should say alot for your team. I cant wait till they really start clicking on all eight! Go LA!!

Sorry to say it the girls game was better than the guys tonight. The guys game got rather physical doung the second half and i really wish they would have thrown the whole book at cookevilles coach the refs couldnt do anything without him complaining even it it was in their favor. As for the refs tho they wernt the best in the world tonight either.

I agree that it wasn't LA's best performance. However, they still managed to get the job done. I think that Brad Jackson did a great job in the second half scoring all of his 13 points. LA seemed to struggle in the paint. Will Peterman also played a pretty good game. Dunn also played well, he had 26 even though he was in foul trouble most of the second half.

The thing I liked the most was TJ Smith finally getting in gear late in the fourth when he hit a 3 pointer and then came down and made that great pass to Clint West who scored on the lay-up. I think West ended up with 9 points.

Imagine what this team would look like if they were all clicking on the same night. Scary?

    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
