Semi-Finals (6pm and 8pm)

Finals (4pm)

Thanks for the schedule. Not many tournaments will make a 4 day Tournament with few games the last two days, at this time. It has got to cost the schools playing but will cost the School putting on the event. Got to think about this one. Guess they are figuring local teams will get to the finals and semi's? Holiday tournaments are generally not well attended. Guess the Ownesboro market is pretty good. Nice town.

It appears that everyone will be playing on the last day (Tuesday); either in the winner??™s bracket or consolation bracket or consolation games. Everyone is guaranteed four games (win or lose).

It appears to be several teams out of the same area participating but they are strategically placed away from each other.

Bartlett starts out with Webster who returns everyone from their previous roster and they are currently 4 ??“ 0. Siegel could meet Owensboro Catholic in the semi-finals if they both win out (in the top part of the bracket ??“ Bartlett is in the bottom part of the bracket). Owensboro Catholic supposedly has a 6??™1??? freshmen that is pretty good (according to my Kentucky sources).

Bartlett's first opponent: Henderson County made the top 8 in the state tournament of Kentucky last year which is a great finish considering Ky does not have a divisional state tournament. Everybody plays everybody for the right to participate in the state tournament. Only sixteen teams make it (unlike TN with DII-small / DII-large / DI / A / AA / AAA etc etc.)

I currently have the phones buzzing to find out some general information on some of the teams.

The website for Kentucky basketball is listed below:

KHSAA.org

???click??? on the Riherds / KHSAA Scoreboard at the top of the page (It is actually a picture of a scoreboard)

???then click??? on Girlsbasketball to view the other teams schedules and rosters

Wish I had been smart enough to remember to do that. you did a fine job and we appreciate it. I'm sure the fans at Bartlett and Siegel will appreciate it also. this must be a great Tournament and kin to a tournament its size at madisonville in the past few weeks. interesting concept of a single division. someone has posted from Kentucky that they liked Tennessee better. Each to his own. Thanks very much for the detail.

  • 2 weeks later...

Congratulations to Bartlett Lady Panthers for their victory over a very good Webster County(Kentucky) team. Bartlett defeated them by a score of 46-39. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> They will face BvLutt East tomorrow night at 8pm. Also, congratulations to Siegel for their victory against Middlesboro....not quite sure what their score was. Keep up the great work ladies and continue to represent Tennessee well.

Great job Lady Panthers, keep up the good work.

Good Luck on 2morrows game

Bartlett Lady Panthers pulled out an OT win against Bulitt East, KY 46 - 44. Bartlett's defense continues to be their calling card night in and night out.

Siegel defeated the hometown team Owensboro 60 - 40. Both Tennessee teams advance to the semifinals of the winners bracket on Monday. Siegel faces Georgetown, TX. Texas has been extremely hot during the tournament and Bartlett faces Henderson County, KY who placed in the Sweet 16 of their state tournament last year and return the majority of their roster.

A win by Bartlett and Siegel would mean an all TN finals matchup.

Go TN! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

In last night??™s (Monday, Dec 29th) semi-final game of the Independence Bank Classic ??“ Owensboro, KY: Bartlett came up short against Henderson County-KY after leading for 3 quarters (who is picked by many in KY to challenge for the state title ??“ according to their area papers). Henderson has a 6??™1??? post (signed with IUPUI) and another 6??™0??? wing who is a junior that is being highly recruited. In addition they have 3 excellent perimeter shooters (who all play for the Indiana Swish summer travel program). Bartlett seemed to have total control through 3 quarters before coming up a little short in the final quarter. Bartlett fouled out one starter and the other four all had 4 fouls each. Bartlett should be at full strength on Jan 6th when they start their district play.

Siegel fell short (in the other semi-final) against another talented tournament participant Georgetown-TX. Siegel actually had the lead with under a minute to go or so left in the game before having a crucial turnover that sealed their faith. The little point guard for Siegel (#22) controlled the game??¦??¦.

Bartlett played Siegel today (Tuesday, December 30) at 2pm with Bartlett coming out on top 49-38 after a sluggish first half for BOTH teams. It is tough to play four games in four days (especially when all the teams are competitive).

Good job Siegel and Bartlett and good luck with the second part of your seasons. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
