I don't think in 2a that Goodpasture will beat Sweetwater for the Championship because I think they are on the same side of the Bracket come playoff time and would meet before the title game?

Same goes for Collinwood/Ezell.

Isn't Trousdale and Austin East on the same side of the bracket?

Isn't Trousdale and Austin East on the same side of the bracket?

I think what he was tryin to say that these two teams are the tops in the state. Just beacuse you make it to the final game doesnt mean you are the 2nd best team in state. Anyone familiar with 1a or 2a football would know this. The East Bracket is much tougher road than the west.

Chakra20,

It may be a typo on your part, but I would put the West 1A Bracket as a far tougher road then 1A East. There was not a single team in the East that could have stayed with Ezell, CPA, Collinwood or USJ last year. With the exception of Boyd Buchanan as a potential contender from the east, I think the same is true this year also.

I got what he was saying. Me and Chakra played back when the alphabet league played on the East side and it has taken some getting used to.

That's the price you pay living in the middle. We got so used to making fun of the west side of the bracket that now we have to turn around and make fun of the east. Hard to tell what goes on anymore...

I understand the confusion. With most of the ABC's moving to the west and Trousdale moving to 3A, it really changed the 1A Classification completely.

Do you think CPA should move up to 2A, 3A, 4A or 5A? And do you think MBA would play in 1A if they could play in Division 1?

I would suggest that all privates, with a few exceptions, move out of 1A. One reason is that I would think it would be more competitive for schools such as CPA...on a week-to-week basis. Another reason is that I think the small rural schools have a disadvantage against CPA.

What do you think? And I have also posted this topic in the private-public debate forum. This is not a public-private debate, but essentially a one school classification question.
