Region V

I like for you to think that Smyrna STINKS, we do not care what you like or not like, we don't care if you think we take naps or not. The point here is this; Smyrna is getting better and better, we have a great coach, teacher of the game, but he needs a little more support from the players and parents and he will have this program to where it needs to be, up there with McCallie, Bradley, Father Ryan and Clarksville. Do not at any moment little person think that your comments offended us here at smyrna to the contrary we take critisism well and we thank you for that little comment. we take it and turn it into fuel for this upcoming year, i hope your team can come and wrestle against us to see how much we "should" improve

Hey DblTech....you're not taking anything away from Soddy or Bradley because not only do they do well in their regions but in the state as well. Why do you feel the need to rip Smyrna? Brentwood has a good program and you think they'll "dominate" the region or state or both? Not to knock the Bruins but they haven't been very dominate at all the last few years.

Smyrna will be in the bottom ranks of the region this year. They lost all their talent. They were a flash in the pan... They lost Hays, Wallace, and David Hale. Their Heavyweight was even lucky to make it to state. I'm telling you that Brentwood will dominate.

 

As far as region V goes, it is the largest region. Not to take anything away from Soddy or Bradley, but when your region only has 8-10 teams in it, it is pretty easy to dominate your region. It takes region V 2 full days of wrestling to complete the region tournament. Most other regions finish theirs in one night.

 

I think Franklin will be number 2 this year. I also think that Forrest will show a little differnt this year. As far as Smyrna goes, they STINK!!!!! They haven't done anything that should give them so much praise. I swear, when you watch them wrestle (if you want to call it that) they look like they work out for 5 minutes and then nap for and hour and a half. Look to the real talent in region V. You'll see...teams like Brentwood, Franklin and Forrest will dominate.

They STINK!!!! Smyrna was one of the luckiest teams this last year. They will have no one this next season. So anyone who thinks that they can do something is sorely mistaken. Coach Goyhu or whatever his name is...hasn't done anything at Smyrna. They have always stunk and they still do. Way to go coach.

What about Fairview we have everyone returning. We lost one guy last year and we are a lot older and a lot better. dont count us out yet

I think it will be between franklin, and tullohoma, close behind will be brentwood and smyrna. There are some teams though that i think might make some big noise. First there is Wilson Central they have the 140 i think it is dusty griffin. Then there is also fairview they could also make some pretty big noise. Finally there is Lebanon if my memory serves me correct they had 4 state qualifiers and if they have returning people then they could suprise some people.

Are you guys lost or just stupid? The top 4 in Region 5 will go like this...1. Franklin, 2. Smyrna, 3. Brentwood, 4. Tullahoma. The top 2 could be close, but everyone else will be fighting for 3rd.

hound dog who are u? Yes I agree with u the top two will be close then 3 and 4 will be close but i dont think smyrna and brentwood are as good as everyone thinks. I was just saying the teams that i listed would do good i didnt say they would be region champs.

I am the hounddog and I know my wrestling. Tullahoma will not be close. Brentwood will stay close for a while and then fade. Smyrna will fight hard, but Franklin will prove way too strong for the purple bulldogs. If there is anything else that you need to know about wrestling in the state of Tennessee, just ask the hound.

Coach Gonyea,

Please don't take it personally. There are MUCH better teams, in this state than yours, that won't win their region either. I know that Jon Hill has done a lot of work this off season with a lot of his wrestlers and I expect it to show in Region 5. You and your supporting cast have done a lot to improve the status of purple bulldog wrestling and I give you credit for that. However, I do not believe that you have done enough this time. Who am I to say this? Why are you putting enough stock into what I say that it makes you respond to it. My remarks were not meant negatively towards you, I just expressed my opinions. I happen to think you are a great guy whom has done a good job. Keep up the good work.
