Maybe Gibson Co. can pull off 3 wins in Murfreesboro this year.

I like this year's Gibson Co. team a lot - but really can't see that happening. They should be in Murfreesboro with one, maybe two losses at the most. It obviously depends on the brackets. If the Lady Pioneers play Marshall Co., Upperman or McMinn Central, they probably will be one-and-done. If not, they have a chance (see Milan last year).

Agree with ETNMOM. How about South Greene. Been awhile since SG has been to Murfreesboro. They are playing hard and quit does not appear to be in there vocabulary. They are playing all the way up til the last buzzer sounds. They have some talent and seem to be working together. Can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds.

what about knox. west!! didn't they "challenge" your little oak ridge (average team losing only on a last second shot). plenty of teams can play with oak ridge. wide open for aaa title.

So, OR has one off game without their star player(K. Johnson) and you think they don't have a chance at state? OR has already played four of the best teams in the nation and went 2-2 against them. They have blown everyone else out(with the exception of Webb, Hoover, and SW Dekalb.) Those are three very good teams, mind you. I think you slipped up with that last comment. Maybe you need to step up your pace, 'fastpace.'

my pace is fine there clown boy! maybe you need to read my post again or can you not read? i never stated OR never had a chance just stated that the AAA race was not a one team race; wide open was the quote. so before you misquote; check your cliff notes and maybe you will be able to comprehend!! ok omahavol or should we say oakridgevol.

Here's the way I break it down

CLASS A - Clarkrange Hands Down No Questions WILL WIN State Class A

CLASS AA - Marshall County - very likely will win but it will have competition from Upperman, Gibson County, Martin Westview, and McMinn Central

CLASS AAA - Is WIDE OPEN. I see Oak Ridge and Morristown West from the East. Cleveland and Riverdale from the Mid East. Wilson Central and Hillsboro from the Mid State and Memphis Central and Millington from the West. With these 8 teams it will be a GREAT TOURNAMENT. I'm leaning toward Wilson Central with Hassal.

I wouldn't count Bartlett out just yet. They tend to play their best ball of the season in the post-season. JMO. Only time will tell. Good luck to all the teams as they wrap up their regular season schedules. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Here's a little tradition. The winners of 16 of the last 20 state championship games in Class A are playing in District 7A (6 - Clarkrange, Jackson Co., Pickett Co.) or 14A (10 - Bradford, Gleason, Peabody) right now.

Just four rural West Tennessee teams have won the AA title in the last 33 years (Chester Co. '78 and '05, Westview '96, Humboldt '79 and '85, Bolivar '77) and two schools have won the AAA title (JCM '96 and Bolivar '78).

    • Yeah, we came up short. I remember we threw a ball over the middle to #5 Guymon? and he came up short of the sticks. Gave em he&& for a bit though.
    • Doe dee doe doe…..hmmmmmmm one of those players can run faster than my lawnmower when I put it in 5th gear turbo.  You can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • Yeah I am on board and plan on coming down from the Ridge for some home games, great Friday night atmosphere there.  I'm really hoping SC can get them back going and have some success for those fans and community.
    • Yep I was field level on the scoreboard end throwing ball with Benny when we had that brief lead. Everybody got very excited but it was short lived as Murvil regrouped and went into machine mode. But yeah,  that hit sounded like the crack of a black powder rifle being fire.  I believe Dozier took one like that as a Soph up at Greeneville after on olay block.
    • Ole Benny boy lol. I forgot about Harder. He was tough as crap. He graduated in ‘09. I went to the OR/Maryville game that year (great game, btw) and he collided with Jacob West (I think was his name) and you could hear it clearly at the top of the visitor bleachers. Man, it was a stick. He could lay some wood son. All those guys were tough, Elliott included.
