I wasn't at the scrimmage , but Coach Meyers stated on the radio this morning that offense scored six times. The scrimmage was at the practice field , no word on how Portland did on offense. Coach Meyers said the offense is ahead of the defense at this time , but the players are starting to grasp into the new system. The scrimmage with Creekwood Tuesday was cancelled, but the Jackets will now scrimmmage Fairview on Monday Aug. 11 at 5:00pm at Boyce Smith Field.

Just returned from the scrimmage game with Fairview, Springfield scored 4 TD's to Fairview's 1 . The offense continues to look impressive. The defense struggled early , but later buckeled down and showed some improvement. Fairview looks like they will be good on offense and should have a good season. QB Daryl Ford looked impressive again, making some nice runs and throwing a TD to talented Freshman Brandon Farmer. The running game also looked impressive with Shaquille Scharkley scoring on two long runs , he seems to be running much better this season. The Jackets were 3 of 4 on extra points. The season is upon us and the competition will get much tougher , but from my observations the Springfield program is moving in the right direction and in time will be back to the storied tradition of playing good football.Go Jackets!!

This is great news and I am just counting the days until the season opener 8/21. I am really optimistic for Springfield this fall..... ^_^

From everything I hear and read, the Jackets will start out 1-0.

I am not even sure what Greenbrier has this year but I figured as much.....
