The bracket is set and everyone now knows who they'll be playing now that the other part of the bracket has been finalized tonight. Predictions and opinions are welcomed....

(3) Obion Co. v. (2) Haywood

 

(4) Milan v. (1) North Side

 

(2) Martin Westview v. (3) Fayette Ware

 

The teams on the left side are from District 13AA....Teams on the right side are from 14AA... Let the discussion begin!!!

Gibson Co. over Covington

Obion Central over Haywood

North Side over Milan

Westview over Fayette Ware

It will be a great tournament. NS/Milan looks to be the best first-round game. Both of the semifinal games will probably be close. The region championship should be more exciting than the district title game. Seems to be a shame that one of the top eight teams in the state won't be playing in sectionals, but that just shows that 13AA is pretty strong.

I do fear the semi final game for sure! I think if we play like we did the other night against Westview though, we should be ok... We just have to contain Chassidy.

This tournament is kinda set up like the year Westview was undefeated or just #1 going into the Region semis against Obion Co......Hopefully this will turn out like that....

lol its crazy that gc beat the 2 seed in the other region by like fifty points... just goes to show how strong 13aa is... hope to see a clean sweep with milan beating north side as well! go lady pioneers!

I'll do my predictions:

 

Gibson Co. over Covington

Obion Co. over Haywood

 

Milan over North Side

Westview over Fayette Ware

 

Gibson Co. over Obion Co.

Westview over Milan (I think this could be the upset special here!!! Milan could very well win)

It'll be GC/OC in one semifinal,

Da View and Jax NorthSide in the other semifinal.

 

GC, playing on their home floor, will have a slight edge over OC as Fussell will need another 40+ points to keep the Lady Rebs in it(others from the OC will have to step up their offense in order to have a shot)

 

Da View will shoot Northside out of the gym as the Lady chargers may actually have a speed advantage over the Lady Indians who rebound well but love to play the slow tempo game. Transition opportunities for "DA VIEW".

 

The finals of Region 7AA will be a repeat of the 13AA district finals as GC takes it over "da View" in a bit of closer game than the 13AA finals.

I am not sure what NS team you have been watching, but the idea that NS plays a slow tempo game is crazy. They have speed everywhere. Don't count Coach Lowery and the Lady Indians out just yet.
