It will be okay guys. Coach Derek McCord is the best coach in District 13 AA, he lost 4 starters and now starting 2 freshman went 30-1 and #2 in the state also won his 3rd straight District Championship! He doesn't win Coach of the Year award in District 13 AA due to the fact that it is a popularity contest! I think he'll take the Championship over a Coach of the Year award! Also, the coach that won it has won it what is it now 3 years running? and loses to Coach McCord year in and year out!

Gotta agree with earlier posts. Mike Wright from Morristown East is the real deal. Flatford from Cosby, in my opinion is also a close second. It's not always about wins and losses. These coaches I speak of have taken talent which is probably 2nd or 3rd place talent in their respective leagues and both are playing for district titles tonight. Two up and comers...Only gonna get better. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Gotta agree with Mike Wright. Great young coach and followed up the regular season title with the District Tournament title tonight. Also agree that he did it with probably 3rd place talent.

Congrats to the Canes.

In district 7A....Gary Flynn of Jackson Co. I think is one of the most underrated coaches in these parts. He guided his team to the state last year first time I believe in 31 years. He gets more out of the talent he has than anybody I've seen.

On the girls side in the same district.....Brent Smith of Pickett Co. IMO is another coach that gets more out of his talent than a lot of coaches.

Both coaches and schools are still alive in the semi's of the Region. Good luck to both coaches.

Coach Gerald Harris from Manassas High School in Memphis had only one player returning from the starting five and the next two off of the bench. So you are looking at losing your top seven players off your team. This is a rebuilding year for his team and look what he have done this year. Rank #2 in the State in Single A, 22-2 (10-0) and projected to win it all this year. What other coach can you say have done a better job? Great Job! Give credit were it is due.

I'll give you an over rated one, is young Cisco from union city. If any of you can recall, when he first came to union city he was a par coach and had a few average season's. Not until his father came around did he actually start winning and winning big. He's an average coach don't get me wrong but he gets all of his fathers credit /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />. Anyone from union city knows it's true if you will admit it or not.

Well, this will certainly get some stuff started.

I think when you look at the job Kevin Starks has done at Harding Academy it is rather impressive. First of all he replaced a big name in Pete Frodden and in his first year he led his team to the State SemiFinals. I think he has doen a fantastic job there and he doesn't get the respect he deserves. Also a great person and man.

2005- State Semi's (Beat Baylor;Lost to Brentwood Academy (Brandan Wright) BA Won Championship)

2006- State Semi's (Beat Knoxville Webb;Lost to Brentwood Academy (Brian Wright/Brandon Brown) BA Won Championship)

2007- Region Tournament

2008- State Champs (Beat St. Georges (Elliot Williams/Laurence Bowers);Beat Tipton Rosemark in OT)

    • The amount of people pooing on UH is crazy. They're a noticably better team than last year when they made state and were competitive , AND they run ruled Eagleville a few weeks ago. Now I understand Eagleville was missing a few guys, but they still. They. Run. Ruled. Eagleville. 1st single A team to run rule Eagleville since when? Pre 2017??
    • If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by  (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!
    • They will probably, struggle
    • Dyersburg is going to be good, really good. As mentioned, they have a lot of talent on the way and the trio of Chelby, Joya, and KayKay will only be better with a full season together under their belt. To me, playing in Murfreesboro two consecutive postseasons will only serve to make them more dangerous if/when they stand among the final eight teams this March. Experience, good or bad, always makes you better. And not only do they have experience, they know how to win there. Schedules are coming together for all of the teams and I am excited about what I am seeing on the preliminary drafts on Dyersburg’s schedule. I know I am being a tease, but it’s simply not my place to announce what another school is doing. With that said, I won’t go into specifics. However, I am excited about renewed home and away contracts for the non-district portion of the calendar. I think west Tennessee will have a lot of interest as well.
    • What does everyone have in the final 8? In no particular order. 1. Eagleville 2. Gordonsville 3. Greenback 4. Oakdale 5. South Pitt/ East Robertson-- not sure 6. Richland 7. Halls 8. Union City
