High School Softball should be moved to the fall

I understand the argument, but would still rather play the championships during the best weather of the season than playing championships in late October or November. We endure early weather conditions in order to not let weather become a factor in deciding who is the best team.

October is by far our driest month, followed closely by september and november.

I was referring to temperature that is more in line with softball.

Another argument that can easily be dismissed.

Average temperatures in Aug. (88 high 65 low), Sep (82-58) and Oct (72-44).

Average temperatures in March (60-36), April (70-45) and May (78-54).

Add in the rain fall averages and it is STILL a no-brainer.

I agree, the only problem is you may end up with more injured players in the fall coming off of a full schedule of travel ball. There would have to set a time frame for travel ball to be played so the girls and get some rest as well.

I agree the spring weather is bad for softball.

2nd - More College coaches would be able to see High School games.

College coaches don't care about high school ball

Softball will not be moved to the fall. Very few states have it in the fall and there is no compelling argument to justify moving it.

One can argue that it is too hot for football in the late summer and earlyl fall so let's move it to the winter/spring season

I can't really understand what you were writing... but I don't think there is much of a chance TSSAA will even consider it, much less approve it so you are probably correct there. However, there are tons of compelling arguments to justify the move. As one poster in a previous thread noted, TSSAA won't change softball to the fall because it makes too much sense.
