science hill plays at a veryfast pace...the entire time!! press, press, and then press some more. they have 6'6'' post player--very agile, a 6'4'' josh odem (UTC signee) that plays all positions and is very good, 6'4'' chris smith that plays all positions and is the best tennis player in the state- for several years..

they are really a very good team and not a good matchup for anyone...plus they are playing their best ball of the year now!!

Science Hill is hot right now. Over the last month, they have been playing real well as a team. They play eight deep. The defense is relentless.

Odem is by far the best player on the team. He is listed at 6'4", but is more like 6'6". He has long arms that make him play like he's 6'9". He is agile and can play any position. He dribbles, passes, and moves well without the ball. He is a match up nightmare. Guards are too short to guard him and wings and posts are too slow to gurad him. He can shoot from anywhere--pro 3-point, high school 3-point, in the paint, and slam. He can be physical or he can finesse. He can take over a game.

Chris Smith is a 6'3" guard/wing. He's a pure athlete (state champion tennis player) that can shoot and drive. If you respect his shot, he will drive. If you play off he will shoot. A very good defensive player.

Isaac Kinley is another pure athlete about 6' guard or wing. He is fearless on defense and usually draws the best offensive player from the other teams regardless of their size. He is relentless on defense. If you forger about him on offense, he will hit the open 3-pointer.

Larry Smith is a 6'5" post. He is quick but not too physical. He lulls teams to sleep, scoring most of his points in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Zack Jordan is listed at 6'5"; more like 6'2" or maybe 6'3". He is the most improved player on the team. He has become the enforcer and is very physical in the paint.

There are three or four other role players that are mainly tenacious defensive players. They are all about 6' or less but are quick and get most of their points on transition.

I hope this helps. What is the scouting report on the team that Science Hill is playing?

WELL THATS NOTHING. WALKER HAS A 6 FT 10 PLAYER THAT HAS A SERIOUS BACKHAND (TERRY MCENROE) . HIS UNCLE IS JOHN MCENROE. IF THE REF CALLS A FOUL ON HIM HE WILL GO OFF .

AND I ALSO HEARD THAT HE WANTS TO CHALLENGE SMITH TO A SINGLES MATCH AFTER THE BASKETBALL GAME.

I know nothing about Science Hill and I was wondering if people could put insight into this game? Match-ups, outcome? Correct me if I am wrong, but the only common opponent is Farragut, and SH lost by 5 on a neutral floor, and WV lost by 3 on a neutral floor as well.

I'm with you...I know nothin about SH but I DO KNOW WALKER VALLEY, and when they played Farragut David Ware (their best player) was sick and one other player wasn't even there. David got Player of the year and is avg. 24 points a game and them boys are HUNGRY!! I think they are gonna shock alot of people!

I'm confused??? WHO are you talkin about?? Walker who? cause if you are talkin about Walker Valley they don't have a kid by that name even on their team??

Are you sure? On coacht it states this is the first meeting between the two schools, unless preseason games do not count.

pre season games arent usually listed on coacht. im not sure if wvbballfan meant during a hall of fame game or a summer game, but summer games are definately not on coacht and hall of fame games arent either in some cases.

I was researching Walker Valley and they do have some height. In the past, SH has always had trouble with a height factored team, however, Josh Odem is playing his best ball right now. I did hear from a friend of mine that lives there that he got injured and may not be 100% come Thursday. How do you get injured going into the state!?? Coach has gotta protect that investment. I'm from the Knoxville area and I don't think anyone wants anything to do with Bearden right now, but SH actually has the weaker bracket. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
