Not every kid that is a good athlete in that area played at UNA. If you want to take credit, you should also take blame for all of the kids that played at UNA who didn't succeed. The ones who couldn't make the grade to get into a college or stay eligible in High School. It flows both ways, right?

I just want to clarify something, every kid who plays a TSSAA Sport at the DII level has to pay to go to the school. There are no Athletic Scholarships, there are need based scholarships. If a parent can afford to send their kid to a DII Private more power to them, everyone has that option if the want it. Public Schools give exemptions so kids can move around and no one is on here crying foul. Please, check this out and know that it is happening on both sides of the fence, Public and Private.

It is just hysterical to me that on every Division II board, it is called "recruiting"

Let it be on a public school board, and it is always "transfers".

Read this board and then flip to the girls basketball board about "transfer" coming into Clarkrange.

This board, it is the unpardonable sin----that board it is "justified"

These are just two that are going on now, but it has been replayed over and over and over

Hey, how about we get back to the subject at hand. Who is the favorite the year and possible the sleeper?

Not an expert on the West Tn. teams, but I think MUS returns several key players. You'd have to consider them a very strong favorite. In Middle Tenn, you can use the same prediction year after year: MBA, BA, and Ensworth (shuffle according to who returns), with Ryan as a an inconsistent group capable of either ruining your season, or accomplishing nothing more than showing up on time: you just never know with them.

An interesting question being debated on the Public V. Private board is the potential impact of the economic downturn on Div II. The conscensus is that the big schools will be ok, but the small schools may suffer. I'm not sure if that applies to any of the schools we're discussing here.

Since the Panthers and the Predators have been eliminated from the NHL play-offs, football season can't get here quick enough.

Why can you use the same predication with Ensworth being included? What have they done to be in with BA OR MBA? And this is the same ensworth team that lost to RYAN 2 seasons ago and had to have a late game kick-off return to win this year.

losing to ryan does not make you a bad team. ba lost to them last year and ended up with a silver ball.

BGA and MBA both would have allowed alex bullard, a BA senior from last year who is going to Notre Dame on a full ride, to attend their schools without paying a cent. but he chose BA who didnt give him any financial aid.

You speak on the alex bullard financial aid situation as though you were involved in the process. Where did alex go to middle school?

What you are saying is absolutely false, NO ONE who plays at the Varsity Level of a TSSAA Sport can get a full ride, period. There are no athletic scholarships, they are all need based. Every family has to turn in TAX Forms to the school, don't quote me on it but every family has to pay a percentage based on their income. Don't be so sure Bullard didn't get some aid, no matter how small or larger of an amount. 60% of all kids who attend DII schools receive some aid, whether they play sports or not.
