Curious, I've been noticing that Hixson is quietly having a good/great season. I was wondering what happened against Sweetwater. And who are some of the players on their team....I know there has to a Miller in there somewhere.

Wow......"beware of Greeks bearing gifts".......makes me a little nervous, receiving compliments from a SD fan. Could the timing of this question about players have anything to do with the upcoming match on Tuesday? I'm probably just a little paranoid. Hixson has gotten off to a good start (Red Bank match was a 2-0 victory). Great group of kids with a lot of hustle. We have a lot of tough matches left to play, so we'll just let the ball bounce where it may. Come out and watch, you won't be bored.

Definitely a surprising score. I'm not trying to take anything away from SD, but I figured Maryville would put more points on the board. How were the field conditions? Did that have any effect on the botched opportunities, Ned? I'm sure most teams can identify with your frustrations.

We played them at their field 2 days ago and the ground kind of grabed at your cleats and the grass gave way easily but other than that the field shouldn't affect performance out there

Field conditions were fine. By our count, Maryville outshot SD 17-3, and we had 13 corners as well. In the Notre Dame game, Gallatin game, and SD game we have had a total of 41 corners...that is not an exaggeration...and we have had an EXTREMELY difficult time putting the ball away. It is frustrating not to score, but I guess you have to be happy with the win since SD has the potential to upset people. I would not count SD out at all, but I think their youth will make them hot and cold all year long. Look for them to upset people this year and be a great team next year.

Well now what's wrong with a neighbor complimenting a neighbor, since Hixson is A/AA and Soddy is AAA. Lets face it most of these boys played together in Middle school or at the Rec level. I know Hixson has more club players than Soddy has. So Yes, Paranoia must run deep in Hixson /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> It should be an exciting game and Good Luck, I should be there.

It looked like Seymour had a bunch of new faces on the field. Both forwards were benched for a while to. Teaching lessons I guess.

Seymour does have some new faces from JV. I would guess these boys are hard at work in practice and coaches are giving them a chance on varsity. Heard Nathan Drain had knee surgery, but is already off crutches and moving around pretty good.

    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching stuff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching stuff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
