I just saw on Goodpasturefootball.com that they are going to have a reunion of the 1999 State Champion's at halftime of the McGavock game. That sounds great, and I hope everyone from that team shows up who still lives in this area. Also, the website said that it looks like Goodpasture will be heading west for the playoffs this year! It will be interesting to see the match up's!

On the website...they have Livingston as a wild card. Livingston is in 4a. Most of the other picks look pretty good. It's hard to pick this early...but GP still could go either way.

I would like to see Goodpasture play Milan again this year in the playoffs. Milan is an excellent team, and I would like to see that match up again. The Goodpasture boys are getting better every game. Watch out for next year, Goodpasture is going to be special!

I agree...but I don't think they have any chance of beating Alcoa...nor does anyone else in 3a.

I do agree that Alcoa is the favorite in 3A, maybe even all classifications. But I do know that Goodpasture is starting ALOT of sophomores and juniors, mainly juniors. They can be very good this year, depending on how fast they learn and grow. I do think that next year has the chance to be a special year for Goodpasture.

Well obviously the people who care are GOODPASTURE fans! And isnt this a Goodpasture thread? I thought so. So why dont you go complain to the TSSAA.

Don't worry complaining to TSSA IS COME'N! hope yall enjoyed the free milk and cookies this year.

I dont know if you have heard but they just got done with realignment. Goodpasture has 350 students and they are playing in 3A. Also, the region they are in now is all 4A teams except for one. And yes, we do like milk and cookies!

IT DOES NOT MATTER IF GOODPASTURE HAS 100 STUDENTS, if they get to hand pick the best players. what does the enrollment mean, if you get the best players you can have. THE enrollment means nothing when you get to pick the best of the best. you let me pick who i want and i'll play anybody and i don't care if their enrollment is 3000 or 1000 or 400. Tssa is wrong bad! and you are if you think it's big to beat a public school who does not have these LUX. i HATE TO THINK IF I COULD RECRUITT I COULD'NT BEAT A PUBLIC SCHOOL. These are facts and if put to a vote it would be UNANIMOUS! IT'S A JOKE.

YOU CAN YELL ALL YOU WANT, but Goodpasture does not recruit 60 kids to play football. 90% of the kids who go to Goodpasture went before high school started (Goodpasture is K thru 12). And every year Goodpasture gets 1 to 2 kids who want to transfer in, but those kids WANT to be part of Goodpasture. And sorry to say it, but the schools with the biggest advantage are the open enrollement public schools! But you dont care about that do you!

Your wrong again. Some counties only have 1 or 2 small cities and tssaa does not allow any players transfering outside county lines, unless the parents move as well. you can not come back with anything that makes it fair. i can show and tell ya all rules. bottom line the reason some privates schools are getting away with this $$$$$$$$$$$$. go to tssaa.org and look under are you eligble and tell me all public's have open enrollment.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
