werazzlin
This would be easier if people knew where the other schools wrestlers are going to be. Should we base the ranking on the "Ol' Bump the Kids Up One Weight Class Due to age"? Or base it on where they were last year (which to me would not be worth it salt). But I too would like to get an idea of who is the best for Region 7 After a half week of season and everyone trying to get back down after stuffing themselves with turkey, how does region 7 stack up now? godofwrestling
Here are some quick names, this year's grade, and last season's weight class (from best guess) Now that you have the names you put them in rankings... then again there could be a few names I forgot or some newbies who are ready to make a splash! Tell who you all think will be the top 3!? Dickson Co. 112 Ryan Shepherd 10 125 Greg Shepherd 12 130 Ben Knox 10 160 Hunter Badon 11 (good question is he still wrestling for Dickson Co.) 171 Rakim Talley 11 Creekwood 112 Johan Wallick 10 Clarksville 103 Cody Oliver 10 112 Chad Isbell 10 125 Hayden Jordan 10 135 Ren Baggett 11 135 Brandon Isbell 12 215 Michael Perry 12 Kenwood 135 Darion Pittman 12 140 Joseph Degan 12 171 Miguel Robles 12 Northwest 103 Donavan Robert 11 112 Martin Leamon 12 119 Dantre Morrison 11 135 David Bosanko 12 135 Jesse Peeples 12 160 Sam Finley 11 285 Wilfred Morrison 12 Northeast 103 Stephen Beukeman 11 119 Chancey Wilson 12 125 Adrian Thomas 11 135 Nathan Baker 11 140 Nick Baker 11 160 Emil Samborski 11 (might have moved to West Creek) 189 Joseph Mbuyamba 11 285 Jamal Shakeenab 12 Rossview 103 Cary Miller 11 112 Ryan Cavin 10 119 Patrick DeMilia 11 125 Taylor Cozine 10 (wrestled for NW last season but transferred to Rossview) 125 Anthony Henry 11 152 Alex Szczepaniak 12 189 Yusuf Yunis 11 215 Tyler Todd 11 285 Tyler Bond 11 Harpeth 112 Nick Cantrell 11 119 Dyllon Bass 10 130 Damean Sawyer 11 160 Will Bradshaw 12 Montgomery Central 103 Jacob Maples 10 119 Brandon Sheppard 10 125 Grant Hill 12 125 James Parker 12 130 Evan Ames 12 135 Matt Price 11 140 Ronald Perry 12 Fairview 171 Joey Leach 12 Springfield 103 Daniel Smith 11 125 Calvin Olive 12 125 Austin West 10 152 Jacob Cousins 11 160 Trevor Sparks 12 Beech 103 Travis Proctor 10 112 ?? Ryan Shehard wasn't Dickson Co. 112 last year. He was 119!
Wrestlersdad
With respect to Ryan Shepherd, he will neither be 112 or 119. I've kept quiet chuckling at some of the speculation on him. He grew a lot over the summer. He is currently wrestling at 135. After his weight reduction plan is complete he should be at 130lb. He probably could have wrestled at 125lb, but because of Greg heading to that weight with his reduction plan, he's not going to attempt it. RossviewFan
Anyone ready to make some mid-season predictions on who will win what weight class?
bbgocats
Mid-Season is here... I haven't seen a lot of these names on the list this season. How about some updates.
RossviewFan
103- 1st- Jacob Maples (Mont Central), 2nd- Jeremy Gonzalez (Rossview), 3rd- Donovan Roberts (NW), and 4th Dylan Treloar (H'ville). This weight class could have any of these taking first... but I just believe Maples (if he can stay healthy) is hands down the better wrestler out of the group. RossviewFan
Well, let me put my predictions out there and then maybe someone else will speak up because I missed someone or someone beat someone or someone is not in that weight class anymore or etc (you get the point, I will not be right) 103 1- Jacob Maples (Montgomery Central) 2- Jeremy Gonzalez (Rossview) 3- Donovan Roberts (NW) 4- Dylan Treloar (H'ville) 112 1- Daniel Smith (Springfield) 2- Richard Burris (H'ville) 3- Spencer Collazos (Rossview) 4- Austin Orman (Harpeth) 119 1- DeAndre Morrison (NW) 2- Nick Cantrell (Harpeth) 3- Cary Miller (Rossview) 4- Brain Conn (CA) or Chase Snow (C'ville) 125 1- Greg Shepherd (Dickson Co.) 2- Dyllon Bass (Harpeth) 3- Austin Large (H'ville) 4- Chad Isbell (C'ville) Dark Horse- Martin Leamon (NW) 130 1- Chancey Wilson (NE) 2- Grant Hill (Montgomery Central) 3- Damean Sawyer (Harpeth) 4- Jack Johnson (H'ville) Dark Horse- Zach Pickney (Beech) 135 1- Hayden Jordan (C'ville) 2- Matt Price (Montgomery Central) 3- Adrian Thomas (NE) 4- Mitch Scarbrough (Dickson Co.) 140 1- Ronald Perry (Montgomery Central) 2- Nick Newton (H'ville) 3- Darion Pittman (Kenwood) 4- Ben Knox (Dickson Co.) 145 1- Brandon Isbell (C'ville) 2- David Bosanko (NW) 3- Joseph Degon (Kenwood) 4- David McKeel (H'ville) 152 1- Jonathan Roberts (Beech) 2- Ren Baggett (C'ville) 3- Thaxton Mead (H'ville) 4- Kevin Kucinski (Montgomery Central) 160 1- Will Bradshaw (Harpeth) 2- Maurice Moore (Kenwood) 3- Nick Baker (NE) 4- Jarrett McGaha (C'ville) Dark Horse- Justin Conners (H'ville) 171 1- Miguel Robles (Kenwood) 2- Jacob Tyer (Dickson Co.) 3- Greg Cross (H'ville) 4- Zach North (Rossview) 189 1- Rakim Talley (Dickson Co.) 2- Tyler Todd (Rossview) 3- Joey Leach (Fairview) 4- Deyandre West (NW) 215 1- Brett Jaeckel (H'ville) 2- Yusuf Yunis (Rossview) 3- Michael Perry (C'ville) 4- Michael Gordy (Sycamore) 285 1- Wilford Morrison (NW) 2- Brandon Chapman (H'ville) 3- Jamaal Shekeenab (NE) 4- Dakota Slack (Dickson Co.) Gman10
I agree with those predictions those are spot on but i could see some drops i think chancey or adrian would drop a weight thats what i think and dakota slack from dickson is dropping to
deadlift
Well, let me put my predictions out there and then maybe someone else will speak up because I missed someone or someone beat someone or someone is not in that weight class anymore or etc (you get the point, I will not be right) 103 1- Jacob Maples (Montgomery Central) 2- Jeremy Gonzalez (Rossview) 3- Donovan Roberts (NW) 4- Dylan Treloar (H'ville) 112 1- Daniel Smith (Springfield) 2- Richard Burris (H'ville) 3- Spencer Collazos (Rossview) 4- Austin Orman (Harpeth) 119 1- DeAndre Morrison (NW) 2- Nick Cantrell (Harpeth) 3- Cary Miller (Rossview) 4- Brain Conn (CA) or Chase Snow (C'ville) 125 1- Greg Shepherd (Dickson Co.) 2- Dyllon Bass (Harpeth) 3- Austin Large (H'ville) 4- Chad Isbell (C'ville) Dark Horse- Martin Leamon (NW) 130 1- Chancey Wilson (NE) 2- Grant Hill (Montgomery Central) 3- Damean Sawyer (Harpeth) 4- Jack Johnson (H'ville) Dark Horse- Zach Pickney (Beech) 135 1- Hayden Jordan (C'ville) 2- Matt Price (Montgomery Central) 3- Adrian Thomas (NE) 4- Mitch Scarbrough (Dickson Co.) 140 1- Ronald Perry (Montgomery Central) 2- Nick Newton (H'ville) 3- Darion Pittman (Kenwood) 4- Ben Knox (Dickson Co.) 145 1- Brandon Isbell (C'ville) 2- David Bosanko (NW) 3- Joseph Degon (Kenwood) 4- David McKeel (H'ville) 152 1- Jonathan Roberts (Beech) 2- Ren Baggett (C'ville) 3- Thaxton Mead (H'ville) 4- Kevin Kucinski (Montgomery Central) 160 1- Will Bradshaw (Harpeth) 2- Maurice Moore (Kenwood) 3- Nick Baker (NE) 4- Jarrett McGaha (C'ville) Dark Horse- Justin Conners (H'ville) 171 1- Miguel Robles (Kenwood) 2- Jacob Tyer (Dickson Co.) 3- Greg Cross (H'ville) 4- Zach North (Rossview) 189 1- Rakim Talley (Dickson Co.) 2- Tyler Todd (Rossview) 3- Joey Leach (Fairview) 4- Deyandre West (NW) 215 1- Brett Jaeckel (H'ville) 2- Yusuf Yunis (Rossview) 3- Michael Perry (C'ville) 4- Michael Gordy (Sycamore) 285 1- Wilford Morrison (NW) 2- Brandon Chapman (H'ville) 3- Jamaal Shekeenab (NE) 4- Dakota Slack (Dickson Co.) Dark Horse- Tyler Bond (Rossview) 103 Maples will probably get majored by Gonzalez 112 Tyler Newton from Clarksville High will be in the mix here. He's been out for about a month with an injury but he's back now. 125 I think you're a little off with the #4, but I'm a little biased at this weight class. 130 You definitely need to flip/flop your #2 and #3. 152 Roberts and Baggett will be a real battle 160 Bradshaw and McGaha will be the battle here 189 I believe Todd has the advantage here 215 Jaeckel and Yunis will be a huge battle Most of the other weight classes I either agree with or don't know much about. hawksfan
I agree with Deadlift at 103. Gonzalez is much better than Maples. He looks bigger and stronger. I can't wait to watch this one. Hvy- No one in this region will be Morrison 215-Yunis vs. Jaekel-Can't wait to watch this one. We should see how this might play out next week. 189-Todd vs. Talley They are tied 1-1 right now. This can go either way. 171- Tyer can beat Robles, I think. But 171 is probably wide open. There isn't a front runner. 160-Bradshaw vs. Moore My bet is on Moore. 152- Ren Baggett is pretty good. This Beech kid will have to bring all he's got to beat him. 145- No one close to B. Isabell here. 140-Perry- same as above. 135-Jordan- Price is good, but it is too bad he is at the same weight class as Jordan. 130-Wilson if he can behave 125-G. Shepherd can bench like 300 pounds! No way any of these lightweights can take him. 119-Morrison vs. Miller for 1st here. But Morrison will probably win. 112-I'm thinking Collazos is going to be better than 3rd here. We'll have to see how he does against the H'ville kid next week. 103-Gonzalez
RossviewFan
Here is some news that has just been picked off the wire! Wilson from NE HAS moved down to 125 and Adrian HAS moved down to 130 and Jamaal HAS moved down to 215. How will that shake up those 3 weight classes? Other news may by pending very soon with other people jumping weight classes with the 2 pounds holiday gift! Who will they be!?
hawksfan
Looks like Gonzalez CAN and DID beat Maples at 103. 125- Shepard is going to have some competition from Wilson at this weight, but he beat him yesterday 12-9. Both look great. Shepard beat Cullen King, but Wilson looks like he could beat King too! Wilson and Shepard should've met in the finals instead of the semi's at Indy. They were the 2 best wrestlers at 125. 130- Thomas wrestled 130 at Indy. Looked good. 160- Tyer from Dickson wrestled 160 at Indy and placed 3rd. 171- Talley from Dickson wrestled 171 at Indy and won the tourney. No one in this region will stop him at 171. 215-Shakeenab isn't going to be a factor at 215.
