govolsknox and footballdad don't lump all loudon fans into one category.we know it will be a very competitive game.some kids just get carried away on here.don't be so dramatic about the "rich kids" comment.obviously there are more wealthy kids at a private school even if it doesn't apply to you.

shooter ,do you think cak has more speed than alcoa?

You're right. I'm sure there are some Loudon fans that understand how competitive this game should be. I'm glad you spoke up on that point. Not trying to be dramatic on the "rich kids" thing, but it sure gets ooooooooooooooold after you hear that sort of thing year after year. Thats a perfect example of someone lumping all the CAK fans into one category as well.

I'm not speaking for shooter, but I will say that CAK has as much speed as Alcoa. Don't know that I could say more speed, but certainly as much. Of course that and a couple dollars will get you a scoop of ice cream at Tic Toc, but doesn't always equate into winning a football game.

Come on BC! :| JRsDad.... your points are entirely correct. even your subtle ones. :!:

Sorry Warrior011....... B) I love to see CAK win it. :|

CAK's passing game will test Loudon's secondary for sure. BUT, Loudon's offensive and defensive line play will test the Warriors. Can CAK stop Loudon's physical run game?

CAK's best chance will be QB in the shotgun and quick dumps to the edges and quick screens on the blitzes. Slow Loudon's defensive line down and make them respect the passing game because they WILL control the LOS. The big line can be neutralized if you can be quick and throw it over their heads! :|

I thought us private schools were suppose to stick together. :roflol:

:flower: ................sorry FD....... :flower:

No problem BC...I hope you are wrong, but I can understand your choice. A hard fought, close game either way is what I expect. The size & strength of the Loudon lines are certainly an advantage for the Redskins, and most games are won in the trenches. However; I have been impressed with the Warrior lines as well. No doubt, we will be at a size disadvantage. But pass rushing takes a lot out of those big guys on defense, and its no secret that CAK is a pass happy team. It looks like several of those big guys play both ways, that's not the case with the Warriors. Additionally, I believe CAK pass blocks better than just about any high school team I have seen around here. Coach Mark Bradley & Jarvis Redo know their stuff when it comes to pass protection. Our QB has only been sacked twice this year in about 100 attempts, those figures may be off a bit, but I'm confident they are close. I'm sure Loudon will get to our QB some, but I believe we can protect long enough to do some damage. But I believe you will find the biggest improvement overall in this CAK team to be on the defensive side. The D-line is about average in size, but very quick & aggressive. Loudon may be able to plow right over us, but quickness can overcome a size disadvantage, and that's what we're counting on.

Nothing but respect for the Loudon team. CAK will not take them lightly and I believe the Warriors will be prepared. If both teams play their A game this could be a classic.

First thing is, I would bet a shiny quarter that these folks talking all the smack are not even current Loudon football players.

Since LHS & CAK started playing, CAK has not put a bad team on the field. These games have always been great games to watch with the contrasting styles of play. If Loudon thinks they can just show up and win they are wrong, and vice versa with CAK.

I guess its a great thing that the players get to decide who wins, and not the bloggers.

1) CAK lines underestimated

2)Loudon will be, by far, the best team CAK has played this year.

3)DE and LB must play well, above avg, for CAK to succeed.

4)speed vs size but Loudon isn't slow

5)rich boy blah blah-Football Dad is right-lots of us sacrifice to send our kids to CAK. Our guys have worked hard and are pretty tough-witness #27 Friday night. His dad owns some school buses, worked at Krogers for years and his mom is a nurse. Blah Blah.

6)HS rankings don't mean diddly and our team knows it

7)Games are always hard fought, even though we've lost more than we've won in the series.

8There will be lots of ice used afterwards by everyone

9) Alcoa hasn't had to throw on anyone this year--did Loudon really stop them or did Alcoa really try?--wasn't there personally.

You are most likely correct about the smack talk. That is usually the case. Of course that usually spices things up a bit, so long as it stays within reason ;) I've only seen Loudon vs CAK since 2007 and both schools have had good teams each year. Last year's victory by Loudon was a bit disappointing for us Warrior fans. We had a relatively good football team, but we certainly didn't show it that night. It's probably the most inept game I have witnessed CAK play in 3 years. Loudon had a good team, was jacked and ready to go, CAK pretty much slept walked through the game. The Redskins outplayed the Warriors in every phase of the game that night. I believe both teams are improved from 08 and this should be a hard hitting game. Pass vs Run, Strength vs Quickness, Tradition vs. Up & Coming. Sounds like a pay per view promo ;)

I hope Loudon brings a lot of hungry fans. We have a new concession stand with many new menu items, including bar-b-q boneless chicken wings (Warrior Wings), fresh off the grill burgers, and homemade desserts like strawberry shortcake & bananna pudding...

This game has potential to be the best game around this week. As I stated in a post last week, I feel our region with us, CAK and Alcoa is probably the best in 3A (previously 2A) football in the state. I haven't seen much of CAK other than highlights, but I do feel we will put the strongest team on the field they have faced this year. Other than Alcoa, CAK will be by far the best team we have faced also. It is a interesting matchup, with lots of differences on both teams as these have already been mentioned. I am looking forward to a Great Ballgame. Myself and my son both know Blake Houser and his dad through many years of competitive baseball and we have always got along really well with them (Good Family), so I want to wish him luck(Hopefully you still lose) and hope both teams have a injury free game.

Man, you actually know Blake Houser's dad and you're willing to admit it :motorbike: I think he must drink a case of Red Bull on top of a pot of coffee every morning. Blake and Momma Houser sure are fine folk, they just keep Daddy Houser around to pay the bills and for entertainment. (Just messing with you Daddy Houser.) :motorbike:

No doubt Loudon will be the best team CAK has faced this year, especially in the trenches. The RB from Carter (#4 Troutman) was a test for our defense. He is very good. #5 from Loudon is a different type of back, smaller & shiftier, but very effective and finishes off his runs well. I'm sure he will present us some problems running behind that big ole line. I watched the "battle of the bridge" again last night. Loudon looks like they run 80% or more of their plays to the right hand side. Is that side of the o-line that much better or is it the tendancy to run right that many teams have? Just curious.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
