Filed was absolutely awful. If I was Shattuck I would not let a soul set foot on that field until the AC game. It needs a lot of work before senior night and hopefully some home field playoff games. The game was a ridiculous because of the field. I was surprised though to not see to many fumbles. Clinton was in control the whole game. They were inside the 10 twice and turned it over on downs twice on Halfback passes that were both wide open but passes were just a little short each time. Score could have easily been a lot worse. I was impressed with how well Powell handled themselves. Team will be good in a couple of years. Only thing I had a problem with was listening to their coach whine after EVERY offensive play Clinton ran always yelling for a holding call or motion or something. Great coach but just got a little old. The most amazing thing I saw all night was a penalty I did not know about. Clinton's QB Stone rolled out and hurdled a guy for a first down. Beautiful play that I thought was very similar to last weeks. Only difference was that he was PENALIZED for it. Apparently it is a personal foul now to hurdle someone if they for your legs now. I am stunned and think this is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I just don't know what they expect him to do, it is just a natural instinct to jump. Anyway I am proud of this team!!! 8-0 boys, way to go!!! Keep rolling and have here's hoping to a great couple of weeks of practice! GO DRAGONS!!!

I could be wrong, but i think the penalty on the hurdle was called because the defender was still on his feet. If the defender had fallen down or been on his knees, i dont think the penalty would have been called. I saw the same penalty called during a Catholic game a few weeks ago.

I have heard fans from Oak Ridge and AC that Clinton will lose to both of them! I guess anything is possible, thats why we play the game on the field. We have 2 weeks to get ready for Oak Ridge and I hope we use this time wisely and continue to get better. GO DRAGONS!!!!!

I don't care if it was Clinton, Powell, or whoever!! The high school hurdling penalty is a crock! What's the difference in the danger a wide receiver takes in going up into the air for a pass and a runner jumping over a defender laying on the ground or diving for his feet. Let's remember--this is football. I know that this is a National Federation rule, but come on guys. It's time to make some changes. Today's athletes are too good to hinder their abilities with an archaic rule like the hurdling penalty!

That is not the only penalty I have seen that is crazy this year. I also saw aiding the runner called against the Dragons this year as well. I am sorry it may have happened but it happens every game and every county around here. I is just never called but then again I saw it for the first time a couple weeks ago at Clinton. Then again it is not a big deal, I am just throwing out some things about how picky i think they are being at times. Slows down the game a lot. Hope the Dragons stay focused during the off week!

    • They do have good community support for sure and did when I coached under Z for 4 years. (I was on that staff that turned them around a little from winning 1 game a year to actually being competitive).  Great Kids and Great Community over there.  They have done some good things with the facilities from when i coached too.
    • I personally will not mind that one bit.  It seems like a really strange fit to me from the git go.
    • Hey, I am a big fan of LC even before my friend SC got that job.  Every time I have been down there for a game, their fans have showed up and stayed positive cheering on the boys regardless of the score.  I think they have great support and great potential.  I'm coming down for some home games this year for sure.  I'm pulling for LC.
    • They didn't erect one of Zeller when he took them to the Quarter Finals in 2011 getting beat by a TD by Powell and Dy'Shawn mobley or in 2012 when they went 9-3 and finished 2nd in the conference behind Maryville. (That conference was stacked too with teams like Maryville, Catholic, West, Farragut, and Bearden)
