CaraByrd
Siegel vs Riverdale on Oct.15, at 7:00 pm. Predictions for this year?
mr300bowl
Winner takes District. Siegel should be the favorite. Riverdale has all their injured back so it should be a good game probably played on a soggy muddy field. Hope the rain holds off and nobody gets injured with the playoffs coming up. soccertaxi
Wait a minute, Siegel has to go undefeated to be District Champs, but Riverdale can have a loss and claim it. I believe if Siegel loses they would still be co-champs with Riverdale being first seed. If Siegel ties or wins then Riverdale would be third seed ( a tie would put RIverdale into a tie with Oakland and Oakland would get the higher seed since they beat Riverdale.) Addias
Since this is the last year of my daughters' high school career, I would like to say that we (entire family) have enjoyed the Siegel matchup and games every year. (We have played 9 times in those 3 years) and have witnessed some fierce and very competitive games. 90% of the games have been won by 1 or 2 goals. I am hoping for a good game with NO INJURIES especially on a wet, muddy field. sportsfan15
Game is still on. JV game has been moved to 4:30 at the Siegel practice field in order to save the game field for the varsity game.

mr300bowl
Siegel 0 Riverdale 0 Field was narrowed by 5 yards on each side due to mud and standing water. Not sure if this helped or hurt either team, but the field seemed more congested. I would say Siegel controlled the ball 65-70% of the time, but did not seem to get many scoring chances. Riverdale had fewer overall chances, but did have a couple of close shots. Riverdale also should have had a PK, that the ref chose not to call. I believe the final standings for 7AAA are as follows: Siegel 4-0-1 Oakland 3-1-1 Riverdale 3-1-1 Blackman 2-2-1 Smyrna 1-4-0 LaVergne 0-5-0 District tournament first round games should be; LaVergne vs Riverdale Smyrna vs Blackman

But still didn't take too many serious shots on goal. Sloppy field contributed to an uninspired performance from both teams. Lack of substitutions from both teams also seemed to be a factor. IMO there should not have been a pk on the play in question, she got the ball. But both teams had to be frustrated with officiating. The cards and the fouls were inconsistent especially on such a sloppy field.
Addias
Agree with most everything you posted with eception of the no-PK call. Have to believe that Siegel would have gotten the call if the roles were reversed. The official (middle) made every call similar to that one for the rest of the game. Bad calls both ways, sloppy field. Again, not here to argue (game is over) and you can tell by my # of posts throughout the years that I enjoy reading rather than posting. Good luck to both teams in the tournament.
