First the blaze band is welcome anytime. We thought about hiring them last year for the playoffs when our "competition band" blew us off. Second, I think this will be an old fashioned smash mouth close ball game. May noone get hurt and the best team win. Go Bruins!

Blackman's 2 biggest challenges Friday night will be

1. Getting back off the dirt and being ready to play

2. Being 100% focused on Brentwood with the Riverdale game looming...Because if their not, Coach Crawford's boys will beat them again!

IF Blackman is focused, I think their athletes finally win a close one

Biggest question will be can Blackman's OFFENSE even score this week! Last week they could NOT against the students (McDaniel/White) and this week they play the team of the Teacher (Crawford). Another thing is Crawford is VERY familiar with Shad's whole play book and has beaten it at both Riverdale and Brentwood.

While Blackman's defense may be good the fact remains your OFFENSE has to get some kind of score to win! dry.gif

I totally agree. It does all depend on whether or not the offense comes to play... Blackman relied too much on the run up the middle in the Oakland game and got shut down every time. IF the BHS offense shows up, then there's a very good chance of another W on the board for Blackman.

The flip-side of this argument can be made, Brentwood has their own district championship game against Franklin next week as well. Both teams are preparing for this Friday with the knowledge of a big-important-week coming up.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
