SHS1, how in the world do you outplay three teams and still lose to all three. That I don't understand. But wait I forget we are talking about Seymour. If there is an excuse they have used it. I really think you guys must have a book on excuses. Field to wet, team to fast, team to big (bringing waves of players), scheme not right, team has our signals, I know there are many more, but these are the only ones I can think of now. If I am not mistaken, I think I read that Sevier County had three TD's called back because of holds and outgained Seymour by over 175 yards. Outplayed???????

Sorry no excuse, just a missed field goal. I thought about using excuse #85 on page 31 "Members of the band had flu like symptoms". I glad that you have the time to read a best seller and remember some of the best lines. An autographed copy is going for a small extra fee. Sorry but the book is copy righted, so you will have to cite the correct sources when quoted. Thanks for your input. Good luck to Coach Brewer and the Bears for the play offs and congrats. on the perfect season. It would be nice to add another gold ball to the trophy case.

Yes a missed field goal (and extra point). And the field goal was just plain funny. Many of your players and coaches (oh my) thought they could kick another field goal after the miss. Great idea kicking on first down. I guess in that book it says you can kick on all four downs after a miss. And if you happen to have a chance of Friday, watch out for the premature celebration. Students ready to rush the field and #66 acting like he is popping open an adult beverage and drinking it. In front of coaches no less. Don't believe these two things, just check out the TV version of the game.

ama3802, why do you hate Seymour so much?

sounds like you and shs1 need some kind of intervention. Maybe you 2 can meet at Starbucks in Sevierville and get Dr. Phil to do a web cast.

Good Luck to both teams in the playoffs.

Not much of a coffee drinker but a strawberry slushee at the Sonic might work. Dr. Phil already has a chapter on me.

whatisthat is correct on the speed. Not a whole lot there. MO East owned the field that night. I'm sure that Tennessee High is not 10-0 for no reason. Thanks for the good luck, but we will need more than that. Maybe some SEC officials. Can't wait to get to Fatz. Maybe ama3802 could share some cheesefries there.

Peace through cheese fries!

Tee Howell was on fire that night!

Who will TN High play in round 2? East or Boone? I say East if Howell is healthy, however, Boone plays solid and does little to hurt themselves. It will be an interesting contest.

One more question: who will be TN High toughest challenge on their way to Cookeville?

The logical answer would be Clinton, but I hope South gets them 1st.

    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
