Thanks fballfan. Your team made the plays when they counted. Very hard fought game on both sides. #9 for yall played one heck of a game. I am very proud of our team for not giving up and fighting til the end. What hurt more than the loss was that one of our kids was so distraught over the loss. He is one of the best kids on the team and has an absolutely TERRIBLE home life. But this kid is always smiling even with all of that (his nickname is Smiley). He was nearly inconsolable after the game. It was one of those situations that just rips your heart out. Good luck to Lawrence County next week vs. Mitchell. TRIPLE COVER KIEWON MALONE!!!!

Glad to see you had a safe trip back GoChiefs! That is one heck of a team yall have there. I would have to say that was the largest O'line and D'line I have seen at the High School level. Of course I have seen teams with kids that weighed more but not that big and athletic. I never would have thought Craigmont would have held this team to just 12 points. I guess LCHS will start looking at Mitchell now but will not forget the Craigmont team anytime soon. #9 is a very good player. He may be the one that has to spy on the Malone kid. I think he can get the job done. I for one think they will play with Mitchell but we all will have to wait and see!!

9 definitely has to be on Malone all night. Maybe put your LB #6 underneath and have 9 over the top for deep balls. He got up there to make that pick at the end of the game. Good luck against that tough Mitchell squad.

#6 is a strong safety. Plays at the line most the time. Just saying though. Lol. But is all over the field as you saw Friday night.

Craigmont played well at the end of the game, but turnovers hurt you guys.

Lawrence County forced the turnovers, and they came at critical times.

Credit should go to both teams for playing hard the entire game. The home crowd

was holding their breath at the end. The Chiefs almost pulled off a win in the closing

minutes.

It was the first playoff win in Lawrence County's history.

Does Mitchell throw the deep ball well?

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
