Round Two: Westview @ Camden

A previous poster said he thought Martin was better coached. I really have to disagree with that statement. Both teams are well coached, but recently both have had trouble advancing to the third round. I think Camden may be a little too predictable in the fact they are going to run and then run some more. Real good teams can and will shut that run down. When it is shut down can the Lions throw with any sucess? Balance is one of the biggest keys when you get deep in the playoffs and I think that hurts Camden in this one. Ward loves to pound it every play but I am not sure Gaskin can throw with consistiency. BTW, he is a very good HS QB and athlete, not trying to say he isn't. Martin is playing with house money. When you start the year off 0-4 you have nothing to lose and I feel sure they have adopted that theme. I look for Westview to be loose and Camden to come out very tight. Sure wish I could be there to see it cause it's gonna be a great game to watch.

If you're going to say a team isn't as well coached as another team because all he has to do is run the ball to beat his opponents then that makes no sense at all. Coach Ward is 10-1 thus far and is in no need of changing his way to beat opponents. If I figured it right, Camden is average 32 PPG. I'd stick with the running game and average my 32 PPG and expect my defense to hold the opponent under 32 points. If you say Camden is predictable then Milan is as well as they tend to hand the ball to Jobronski or Avery the majority of the time. I'm meaning no harm to Milan or Camden in this post, but I don't get how you say Westview is better coached just because Camden is predictable.

Better coached might be an overstatement, but bulldawgfan2, you agreed with me saying Camden

is predictable, isn't that a coaching issue, and as far as Milan only handing the ball to Jbronk

did you see the last game? Don't forget we went into Crockett County and shut them out.

Do you think Camden is better than CC?

Camden is predictable as is Milan. Milan isn't going to throw the ball unless they have to as I'm sure that's the case in Camden. Coach Morris was working on things with his team against Stewart Co. and giving other teams something else to prepare for. Establishing the run game is apart of football and if you can establish the run game then there is no reason to pass the ball. Alcoa runs the ball constantly. I went and watched them and Maryville play. Alcoa passed the ball once in that game against one of the most historic programs in Tennessee as well as one of the best teams in 6A. They also ran for 400+ yards in the game against Maryville as well. Do you catch the jist here? Do you consider this bad coaching?

Finally someone to shut this swing juice guy up! IF Camden does not beat Milan, Alcoa WILL be there to shut these cocky Milan fans up. They could lose a whole season and still wouldn't shut up about how great they are. Swing juice go and talk crap on the Milan page no one cares about you here.

I think you Camden & Milan fans need to SLOW DOWN......Westview plays Camden Friday night and Milan plays Oakhaven Friday night. Ya'll are already talking about playing each other. I predict a Westview win and would laugh my *** off if Milan got beat!!! One game at a time... Go Westview!!!!!!

I guess I should say I think Camden is too reliant on the run game. I'm guessing they just choose not to pass much.

GC - I guess when I say balance is important in the playoffs, I know defenses work to take away your strengths and try to make you do things your team isn't comfortable. I know Alcoa didn't throw against Maryville but i have no doubt they could have if needed but with the sucess of the running game that night there was no need to pass. I really feel that will hurt Camden this friday night. Something tells me that with the confidence of Westview they will force Camden to put it in the air. We will see - you going to Benton County this Friday night?

Johnny101.....It's good to see someone else on here that cuts to the chase. Well said. As for

the game, Westview is better coached and they will have a better game plan, you guys have

already said it before, Camden gets a little predictable, Hey I think it will be close,

I just think Camden has way too much pressure to win this game, I could be wrong, and actually

I hope I am, we are getting tired of beating Westview in the playoffs. Good luck and I hope

it's an injury free game.

The Chargers are well coached...this is for sure....Camden is EQUALLY well coached...that is a given! How can you say the Westview is "better coached" when the BEST COACH on their staff retired last season and moved to Tallahassee?? Please....share with us your "coaching report card"!!!! What are we missing??

I was going to head to Camden Friday to watch this game, however I'm going to head to Henry Co. to watch Henry Co. and Gallatin play. Our offensive coordinator back when I played is now a coach at Gallatin. I also haven't had the chance to watch Henry Co. play yet this year and I really want to check them out. If Milan and Camden do play next week, I'll be there to watch it.

As far as better coaching goes how does anyone justify this? West Tenn. Is known for all of its teams to be predominantly heavy run teams. After seeing all teams Mart- Westveiw, Milan, and Camden play I can honestly say that these team's "bread and Butter" are running plays. But honestly I COULD CARELESS, because CAMDEN PLAYS WESTVEIW THIS WEEK.

Every person on this thread knows all roads Lead to Johnnie Hale.

I look forward to this game for two reasons

1) I beleive it is time for my beloved Lions to return to the Quarter-finals

2) There is sooo much riding on this game the atmosphere is gonna be the best you can ask for.

This game is featuring two VERY GOOD teams, that are well coached. THough the last time these two teams met Camden won in a late game blowout, I don't see this happening again. I say Camden wins by two TD's at the most. Lastly LET's GO BLACK & GOLD!!!!
