Father Ryan fans - a note to lift your spirits. It appears that McBride will not be able to play and Brunetti

is still not 100% after his groin injury in October. On a more sobering note, MUS won 5 games without McBride, including South Panola and Olive Branch, and scored 38 points on Baylor with McBride benched.

Weather should be perfect so haul your behinds down I-40 tomorrow.

Hope the Irish have a safe trip over to Memphis and that some of their fans get a chance to have a Huey's burger. It was delicious!

Only know MUS from what I've read on the boards and I'm sure that my pick is against the better advice of most bookies... However, the Irish have seemed to be able to get it done this season no matter how stiff the odds.

Father Ryan 35

MUS 30

PS - I'll take Fletcher from MBA on my special teams any day! Losing by a last minute kick is a tough one, however it was an awesome kick!

You go Blue MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :!: I not sure MUS has played anyone with as much heart as the Father Ryan Irish. They have proved time and again how talented they are. There is not one stand out athelete but many. They play team ball and anyone player at any time can kick some butt!!!!! :o:o

You Father Ryan faithful are great fans of your team, but you all are very delusional! i would not expect you all to say that you think you will lose, but you all are acting like MUS is overrated. I can't wait to see your reaction when you realize that you were dead wrong about them. Father Ryan has had a great year, but they have absolutely no chance in this one. My predictions:

MUS 38

FR 10

MBA 24

BA 14

Championship:

MUS 34

MBA 6

Enjoy this weekend. I wish all safe travel!!

That is a good burger, but going to The Rendevous for ribs is a must for me in Memphis. Either way, you can't go wrong. Enjoy the meal, because I think the game is going to be not too great of an experience for the Irish faithful. I'm pulling for the Nashville boys, but MUS is the real deal this year.

That's where I was headed by the late third quarter last year of the MBA-MUS game. Crappy night of football, but my MUS host took care of the Rendezvous tab, so I at least have that memory.

I, too, think it will be an ambush. For FRHS to stay within a TD or two would be something only two fine Mississippi schools were able to do this year. MUS by 24-28 points.

If Ryan fans are dead wrong, they can get on the same train as you who turned out to be dead wrong as well, have a good off-season. :thumb:

Except your train ran for a week longer than theirs.

Those of us in Middle Tennessee only know MUS by reputation, and who they have beaten. FR will be the first Nashville team they have played, so from that point of view MUS is something of an unknown here. That said this is what I do know. It is tough for a Nashville team to travel to Memphis and win. I don't know if it is the long bus ride or there is somwthing in the Memphis water supply. MBA went to MUS twice in 2004 with a better team and lost both games by a slim margin... good luck to FR. Wouldn't it be fun to drive to Cookeville on a Thursday night to watch FR and MBA play again. That is pure insanity.

MUS has 3 quality wins over 2 rated Mississippi teams and the #10 team in the state Memphis White Station.

Ryan barely beat BA after 3 BA turnovers inside their 20, beat the worst JPII team ever by just 7 pts, and beat a bad McCallie team by 5 pts.

Don't think Ryan will make the trip to Cookeville......Call me crazy.

In the other game BA vs MBA.......it's a tossup.

Both teams need to keep their travel agents on hold till late tonight.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
