A few thoughts from the game:

1. SS fans packed the stands. This was fantastic to see considering the drive you all had. I did not speak with any of you, but seemed to be classy folks and proud of your boys! Be safe on the way home.

2. Just my opinion, Columbia absolutely dominated this game from start to finish. I'm sure we will hear it was the refs fault, but I thought it was a well officiated game. I believe when the stats come out tomorrow you will see the penalties were fairly even.

3. This last observation impressed me the most. The SS and Columbia cheerleaders praying on the sidelines prior to the start of the game. This was fantastic. From what I understand, the SS cheerleaders gave the Columbia cheerleaders a cross in honor/memory of a former player. This was great and a lot more important that the outcome of this game.

GO LIONS!!

Well said, but I don't think the SS fans will be whining about the refs.

Clearly one of the classiest teams and fans I have ever seen. Loved both teams praying together after the game.

I was sitting back there where they had the train horn set up and when i left we walked behind the SS bleachers and everyone seemed really nice. and then the game was over and we were walking out about the time the refs were coming off the field and one SS lady was just screaming at the ref about how bad they were in what not...really poor tasteless behavior, but i guess you can't stereotype a whole crowd(which they brought a lot) to one, or maybe two people.

it was a really good game, and rather than the drive where SS got 2 TD's called back they never really threatened that much. This was the first time I have seen Columbia play this year and i will say there pass defense looks kinda soft, and they said it was really soft last week. I don't know if that will come back and bite them or not.

great effort by both teams

i will have to agree with some of the other people the fans and players were very classy and i was amazed that yall actually did have that many people come considering the drive which means yall really support your team which is awesome. cus the last few teams i've seen were not to far away and didn't even bring half of what yall brought.

good luck central next week i know i will be there cheering im just dissapointed we can't take our train horns with us

and good luck to SS next year

After they walked through the line, and shook our teams hands, and walked into the circle for a prayer, I think a lot of Columbia fans wanted to go and hug your kids necks. What a season they had and they played through so much adversity. They will carry being 3rd or 4th in the state for the rest of their lives. They will always remember being darn good. Congrats to them.

Congrats and Good Luck to Columbia Central in the Championship game next week!!

Our Rebels have no reason what so ever to hang their head, you guys had one heck of a season I am very proud of all of you players and coaches and fans!! You guys had to deal with a lot this season unfortunately, (more than any team or family should have gone through), and for everything thing that was thrown at you, you guys responded in a positive manner. I for one felt like this team matured into, and became outstanding young men!!! You all make me very proud to be a REBEL Fan, and will always be a part of our REBEL NATION!!!

:thumb: ~STANDING OVATION!!!~ :D

MANY THANKS FROM ME!!!

Looking forward to Rebel football for many years to come!!!

Tothe whole REBEL Nation....What a class act!!!! I am so proud to be a part of this wonderful community. What a group of young men, you have taught most of us adults a lot of lessons this season. You have brought together a community, the team has become family to each other. It certainly didn't happen the way we all thought it would, but God had a plan for this group. My hope and prayer is that we will all remember this special time, that we will cherish each day with family and friends and always remeber our friend, teammate and brother.... 54

Their pass is their weakness but last night was the best I've seen their D play in the playoffs and possibly all year, but their run defense is awesome and columbia showed ss just how good.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
